ZM's 1/32 Ho-229
Posted by oldsalty24 on Monday, December 1, 2014 4:36 PM

I was one of the first modellers in Australia to purchase the Ho-229 and I am more than pleased to say here that it is THE most exciting kit I have ever had the pleasure of building.

I will post some images of my build at a later date as I have decided that I will build it in a most unusual way.

My build embraces all aspects of the purity of the model and history of the Horton.

As there was no definite colour scheme decided before the first one rolled of the 'production line' in war time Germany, I am not going to try and guess history, so I am staying with the concept of "What is there is what you see".

This is the "purest" model of any aircraft I know, and to see history in a box of the most perfectly engineered parts, you cant help but honour the passion and intent of the ZM people and build it with that integrity in mind.

Looking forward to seeing this project come together.  I like the fact that it is such a unique aircraft!

I too Have the Horten from ZM and it is a fantastic kit.

I managed to get one at Telford. At the time I was working on both Meng's Bradley kits, but I am afraid I caved and have started my Horten. I will post photos a bit later on my own build thread.

Needless to say, if you don't have a bash at this then you are truly missing out on what is IMHO the best kit ever. One that teaches as it builds. Even the manual is full of information and not just how to build.!

I saw one of these at the model club meting last week. The guy had taken it to Telford and he had completed it with one wing with a wood finish, which I believe is decals, and the other wing showing off the spares. It did look an amazing build.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
