Welcome aboard.  A friendly crew here indeed.  Thats one of the first kits I built as a kid.  I fondly remember painting it white with Ross poster colors to look like one of the Zeros in Final Countdown.   The Zero is still near and dear to my heart as a result.   Don't hesitate to ask any questions.  Folks on here are more than willingly to help.

Thank you all for the welcome. Anyways, here is how far I managed to come since the start of the post. I'm looking to create a war torn zero, heavily abused in battle. Forgot to mention, everything has been brush painted. I still need to apply some paint coats, sand, putty, and polish. This is what I am going for. Cockpit controls. Pilot (In the picture he is glossy, but I hit him with a flat coat) Prop/Engine (Struggling on how to get a decent looking weathered prop) Some chipping.

Another welcome, Dstaks-

I fully agree with the others, there is much to be learned from these forums. My building and finishing has seen lot's of improvement since joining, by following builds in progress, the photo's and text that accompany them, and the questions that are routinely answered with clear attempts to help another modeler. I'm very glad I joined up, this is a great group of folks.

Happy holidays to all of you.

Welcome Dstaks, I will also echo what Jay Jay has mentioned.  I too have learned a ton and refined skills that I thought I had; all from the kind people on this thread.  I have been to some other modeling sites and asked questions only to get negative comments or smart a$$ replies.  The feedback you will get here is friendly and people are more than happy to help.

On the Bench:  Lots of unfinished projects!  Smile

Hello guys, new to the forum and a follower for a few weeks now. I decided to join and just post pictures of the build. My first plane and favorite past time war bird. With a month of modeling under my belt this should be fun. Anyways my wife picked this up for me along with a corsair while at Meps. Having trouble posting pics will get up soon.
