Great job on the Thud. That's one nice looking beast!

Hi, Theuns  Super nice work, both the 105 and the 121 look just great. When you used the Alclad clear, did you have to take any particular precautions about lacquer over enamel, such as multiple clear coats applied very lightly? Or does Alclad produce a clear other than lacquer? Thanks in advance.

I spray lacquer over enamels and acrylics all the time. The lacquer is sprayed in thin layers and dries very quick. Just be sure the enamel or acrylic has a day or two to cure and dry.

Alclad's line of clear coats aren't lacquers. They are either Enamel/Mineral spirit based, or Acrylic-Aqua Gloss line. 

Yep, forgot about the Alclad clear part of the question. As Nathan said, the regular Klear Kote is MS based and the Aqua Gloss is water based. Aqua Gloss takes less time to cure than Future and usually do not have to wait a day or two as with Future when using decal setting solutions.

Nice build. I just completed a 1/48 Thud (old Revell kit) that has the raised seams, so consequently I could not quite achieve the panel look of yours......I thought about scribing them, but have no experience doing that, so I'll just have to pony-up the $$$$$ and buy a newer example.....
