That's a nice lookin' build. If I ever get thru what I have here I may have to give this one a try....

Reminded me of it when I saw Failsafe on teevee the other day.

I built the Monogram 1/48 kit when I was around 14. Obviously, not my best effort back then. I managed to score another one at a show not too long ago. It's been sitting in my stash waiting until I master metal finishes. It's not an easy build, from what I understand, but you can make a decent show of it if your skills are up to the challenge. It's one of those kits I can't wait to get to, but it'll be a few months yet. It's one of my favorite planes, though, so ya gotta do it...ya know?

I built Lindbergs.   features retractable landing gear, engines, and opening cockpits.  Not a detailed kit, but it builds up into an awesome, interactive, model.

Italeri 1/72 just fine.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I built the Monogram 1/48 scale. No real problems other than forgot to put weight in the nose to hold it down. I ended up loading up the inboard engine nacelles and that took care of.

I had one of those kits as a kid. It had a button on top of thr fuse to drop the center fuel tank,  if I remember correctly. I don't remember if it was any good though.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Has anyone built one of these? Are the kits any good?
