That's a great looking build and an awesome job on painting those markings. I certainly would not have known if you had not said.

Academy's best kit (IMO)........and you did a fine job on it.  Good choice on painting in lieu of decals.  I did the same when I built it a few years ago..

Beautiful job! Yeah those yellow stripe decals have been giving me fits, wish I'd painted them on mine.

panos,

Your build looks good, from behind. Did you delete the other pics? I only see the tail. Your right about Academy's decals, they are horrible.

Panos, that's a great looking jet!   Your Alclad looks quite realistic too.  Well done indeed sir!Bow Down

F-86F Sabre (Academy 1.48)

This is my latest work.

F-86F Sabre from Academy at 1/48. The kit is really good value for money. I made it straight from the box. I only used Tamiya tape to make seat belts and some very fine wires for the landing gear. I used several shades of alclad II lacquer paints to achieve metal look, such as white aluminium, duraluminium, dark aluminium. The only bad part of the model was the decals. So I painted all the stripes and the chess board in the vertical stabilizer. Finally I sprayed Humbrol’s clear gloss varnish to seal everything.

The model won the bronze medal in 33nd report of IPMS Greece in 2014 in 9th class.

I hope that you like it. (let me know if the pictures are too big)
