1/48 Me-109G
Posted by Darren Roberts on Saturday, January 17, 2015 4:07 PM
After reading about Franz Stigler in Higher Calling, I decided I wanted to branch out and try my hand at a -109. I found a sheet that had the markings, but all I had in my stash was a Zvezda -109F kit. Not wanting to spend a bunch more, I picked up a Pegasus snap -109G-6 cheap and cut parts from that to get a close approximation. I know it's not completely accurate, but it works for the level of my ignorance. BTW, the Zvezda kit is absolutely gorgeous. Here's my attempt at a Luftwaffe subject.

LOL. Did you say 'snap' ? Looks almost as good as the Zvezda kit

Can't believe that is your 1st 109--looks great!

It actually is the Zvezda kit with the Pegasus parts grafted on. I may have built a -109 long, long ago in my childhood. It's so long ago I can't remember! :-)

That is really nice. I am working on the Zvezda F-4 now and I am amazed at its quality. You did a fantastic job on this build. Stick out tongue

I had the same response as you. The Zvezda kit is incredibly detailed, yet goes together without any hassle whatsoever. I can see why people gravitate to kits like that. It was a pleasure to build, even with grafting on the Pegasus G parts.
