Testors 1/72 Corsair: French Navy 1955

I've been out of the modeling pocket for a year now.Lots of life changes and now things are back on track for the best. Here's a build to get me back into the swing of things. The kit is from the Heroes of The Sky twin pack from Testors. The kit includes a Corsair,P-51 and paint.A nice, simple model to get one's feet wet again.Decals are from Berna.

I have fond memories of building that Corsair from Testors.  As you stated, it's a nice, simple model and when you're done, it looks like a Corsair.  Great job on the finish and the decals look great.  Congrats on a nice build!  I'd proudly keep it on my shelf.

Marc & Eric,

Thank you for the comments. It was a relaxing build overall.I used Testors Flat Sea Blue in the 1/4 ounce bottles and Testors Satin for the clear coat.I used a pilot figure from a Matchbox kit. It's also the first time I've used an airbrush in many, many years!

Thanks for the kind words 5-high! The last time I used an airbrush was back in the late 80's.Mostly did brush painting and rattle cans!

Water based acrylic paints clean up a lot faster out of an air brush than oil paints do.

Chasing the ultimate build.

Thanks for the tip on airbrushing acrylics.I need to practice on some paint mules of mine before attempting to paint an actual model.I know that acrylics can be difficult to mask due to pull up with masking tape,I'm big on using primer (Testors or Tamiya) on anything I build.
