He 219 A-7

With P-40 finished, another kit. This time a kit stopped for more than a year. The painting scares me a bit but let's see if I can finish it this time.

What had been done.

I glued the landing gear and prepared to start painting.

Let's see if this time is that I can finish.

Ye, nice start, I do like the 219 but am yet to build one. And that NF scheme does worry me a bit, be interested to see how you tackle it.

Saw one of the only remaining Uhus at the Smithsonian a few years ago and it is as impressive in person as the model is.  I will be looking forward to seeing your kit complete.  Good luck and thanks for posting.

Thank you for your comments Yes .

This week and after I glued the pieces of landing gear...

...I painted the doors and wells landing gear, landing gear and wheels. I used XF-22 Tamiya.

The weathering.

And for now is all.

Wow - love the landing gear! Is that post-shading with an airbrush? Flat black?

Yes Brandon, is post-shading.

Applied lights (Tamiya XF-22 plus a few drops of white) and shadows (Tamiya XF-1 black). The two paints containing of about 80% thinner.

After one wash with a product called Bitumen of Judea also very diluted.

Bitumen Of Judea?

Splitters!!

Product that used to be used to protect the wood and, or, to give them an aged appearance. Was dissolved in turpentine.

Today is widely used to apply patinas.

Awesome work!!!

Painted with a mixture of XF-63 and XF-1 Tamiya. Then applied black, very dilute, on the tire next to the rim.

Then I used MIG pigments and applied a wash, all round about, with bitumen of Judea.

Sorry Embarrassed .

There was an error. In the photo shows pigments. I do not use the Bitumen of Judea pigment but in liquid. Comes very thick and has to be very diluted.
