That being said - and thanx to all for the input - it looks like mixing scales among the fleet of models is more common than I realized. Although the bombers get pretty large in 1:48, I do have a Corsair and P-51 on my wishlist too and might appreciate the extra detail of a larger scale.

If you want a H or J model B-25, go for Hasegawa.

Italeri will get you a B, C,D, or G. I have the boxing for the PBJ-1D with ventral radome and torpedo. Not as good as Hasegawa (older kit, raised panel lines, etc) but better than Airfix and generally accurate.

Definately get the Hasegawa kit.  The Airfix kit, while cheaper, was originally molded in the late 60's and has a mix of "working" features and terrible to non existant details, along with extremely poor fit.

Rotorhead10 - thanks for the feedback. Sounds like good advice - hope your build goes well.

I'm actually building the Airfix kit in 1/72 now. My advice....spend a little more and get a decent kit.

I want to build a B-25 and 1:48 is probably too large to display. What are the opinions re: the different mfg kits of this plane?
