Seated Pilot Figures (1:48)--Where to find them
Posted by Adam148 on Sunday, March 22, 2015 11:47 PM

I'm guessing it's sort of passé to build models with pilots sitting in the cockpit, but my system is, "If the model doesn't turn out great, it gets built with the landing gear up and then hung from the ceiling." (Shelf space is at a premium in my place.) Few models in my stash, however, come with pilot figures.  Is anyone aware of a source out there for just plain 'ol WW2 USAAF/USN pilots?

Are you looking for resin ones that are strapped into the seat? Those are pretty boss!

Not necessarily strapped into the seat.  I'm not looking for anything too complex--just a body in a seat so my Hellcats and Wildcats etc. don't look like drones. I suppose I could just make something out of Milliput or try my hand at resin casting based on an existing pilot figure.

Thanks for that link.  This is closer to what I'm looking for, but not quite there yet.

You know what, I just realized those figures were in a seat!   Sorry about that, mate

I think this is what you're looking for. They're cheap, not a large amount of detail, and will probably have to be cut below the knees to fit right, but they are a body in the cockpit.

I don't put "asses in seats" in my builds. I'll gather them up and post some photos. You'd be welcome to whatever I have that may suit your needs.
