Thanks jack. I know, it does look a bit shrine like, though that wasn't the intention, more just a tribute.

Bish, that is great work and tribute to Rudel, a shrine is what comes to my mind.  Yes

Particularly like how that winter scheme came out on the previous page, and hand painted at that - nice!!

regards,

Jack

Thanks very much for the comments guys, its very much appreciated. Shareing this hobby, whether it be a single build or a large project, with such fine people makes the whole thing even more enjoyable than it already is.

And if any of you do have a larger project in your mind, i can only suggest you go for it.

That was quite and undertaking. Well done. They are all stunning by themselves, but grouped together they take it to a whole other level.

Great job on such a masive project Bish. I've had a few ideas like that but never had the fortitude to cary them through like you did.

Beautiful job mate Beer

After 20 years in the planning and 18 months since it started, this project is finally complete. One last update before the completed pic. The 144 kit was completed with decals and cannon added. The proper upper wing decals were missing, not sure what i had done with them, so i had to use a left pver set of fuselage decals.

And now all the finished pics. The 48th kit was completed with the addition of cannon, prop, canopy and antenne wire. Then secured to the base.

The 144 kit i decided to put on a base along with the 32nd figure and dog. The dog was my first ever animal and was rather pleased with how it turned out.

The bust was also completed and added to the base.

And so the 3rd and final stage is complete.

And some combined pics, the 3 Ju 87G-2's.

2 Fw 190D-9's.

And the whole collection.

And taking pride of place at the top of my Stuka section.

And that it. Thank to all who followed along and commented. This build has ben on my mind for very many years and is a tribute to both the man and the machine he mastered. I know Rudel is a controversal figure and i am sure many found this whole project distasteful. But i can only admire Rudel for what he did and whats more, he did it on the Eastern Front.

But despite my love of the cranked wing beast, i think i am a bit Stuk'ed out for a while.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Cheers Joe. I have seen a few models of it in this scheme, mostly in on line searches. As i mentioned, most seem to be airbrushed. This is the only pic of it i have found, so on both 72nd and 48th builds i started out by painting this area and then went from there.

I am almost done on the 48th Stuka but one last update before i finish it off. First up, decals. No problems with these, includeing the yellow V on the wing.

Then an overall wash with Flory washes and some exhaust staining.

And then the white wash. I have seen this subject done a few times usually useing an airbrush. But i decided to hand brush Tamiya flat white to give a more realistic look. Followed by a little more exhaust stains.

Just a few more bit to add before this is done. The 144 kit has been painted, its almost impossable to tell the 2 greens apart but i am not overly worried about that.

I plan on getting these 2 finished and then finish off the bust and figure.

I airbrushed the white useing Tamiya, mainly because it was such a large area the rest is brush painted with vallejo. The decorations were also brush paitned, again with tamiya apart form the gold which was Humbrol enamel.

Everything is looking really good Bish! Are you handpainting or using an airbrush on that bust? If handpainting, what paint are you using? Sorry is you mentioned it and I just missed it.
