Your making great progress Toshi, keep it up. You can overcome the issues, as I have had to on my own builds. Just keep plugging away and you will get there in the end, break the problem into parts (not literally of course Whistling) and do a little at a time.

Just know we are all here to help each other in encouragment or technical assistance.

Know go kick some Kingfisher into line!

Thank you sir!  You are a scholar and a gentleman.  Yes, you are correct in that I need to break it up in parts/sections.  What's difficult is that I have a set of PE instructions as well as the kits instructions.  It gets crazy sometimes!   LOL!

You will be one of the first of many forum members that would point me in the right direction.  And thank you for saying that, members like you are of value to this community.  Your examples are outstanding.

Here's where I stand at currently.  The basic kit build is simple enough to follow through.  It's when the Eduard PE is added onto the main kit, things become quite interesting at best.

There are some really delicate PE in this kit so it takes some time to assemble.  Check out what I have at the bottom.  By the way, I'm building while my Bose system is blasting Weather Reports Heavy Weather down load.

Earlier this evening I had Led Zepplin's Song Remains the Same live album playing, Mrs. Toshi asked me to turn it down.  Oh well, at least the Weather Report album is a little more on quite side of things.  I think?   LOL!

To my fellow forum members,

Yesterday we celebrated my grandsons first birthday at a water park pool!  He'll never remember it but just the smile on his face was priceless.

Especially when I (Papa) pulled him around the water park in a Red Radio Flyer Mrs. Toshi and I bought for him.  He was laughing the whole time.  That's what family is all about.

Now for my second family at NFS forums, here is what's been done thus far.  The gunners area was worked  on as well as the radio equipment.    There's still a lot more to go as this kit is extremely detailed.

Marvelous work so far. Love this aircraft!

Toshi, are those tubes next to the MG flare tubes? If so, where under the fuselage do they exit? I've circled the area that looks as if it could have one of the exit openings behind one of the struts (if indeed that's what they are?) but I would think the flares would bounce off the main float if that were the case. Just curious.

It's interesting that you've found that.  You have good eyes!  At least better than mines.

Here is what was constructed all day.  It doesn't look like much but it was pretty difficult!   At least for me.

Bish

Some nice work there Toshi.

Hello bish!  Thank you very much.  This kit is something else!  Nothing dry fits, so you have to cut and modify every single piece.  After awhile this is turning into a really bad joke.

But after all the hard work, things start to look really good.  My fear is that everything can pull together in the fueselage assembly!  Oh boy!

Thank you damouav.  Your words are way too kind for me.  Although I am most appreciative of such nice things you've said so far at this point.

Many hobbiest especially the professionals tend to use the AB.  So far at this point, everything you see here has been painted free hand brush this is since the kit's initial stages.  I hope to continue in this way.

Toshi

Here are the inner fueselage's.

Looking really good.  Sorry you are having the fit problems.

I can think of no finer musical accompaniment for modelling than Led Zeppelin.  But then again, I am a huge Zep fan, and think it should be played as often and as loud as possible.

The song remains the same.  What an absolutely fantastic album.

Have fun,

It it seems that things are moving forward in a steady but slow manner.  Here is what's been done so far.

Thanks DMan!  No appolagies are needed.  It's just bad engineering!  But as I move forward, things are slowly but surely moving along now as you can see.

I too am a huge Zep fan!  Not only is Song Remains the Same a great album but it's a fantastic movie as well.  Thanks for checking in!

Toshi,

You haven't done anything wrong as far as the flare chutes are concerned. I was just curious as to how the exit openings are represented on the model's fuselage - if at all. I thought there might be an outline of either a square or circle indicating where the stuff they let drop from those tubes exited. It looks like, from what I can see, that they are angled slightly apart toward the bottom. I guess they cleared the float by a little Big Smile.

You're doing great work on a fascinating aircraft!

Houses of the Holy and their third unnamed album with the old man!  Or the incorrectly called the Zosfo album.

I was just concerned that I was doing something wrong with the build.  But that's good to know I'm heading in the right direction.  Whew.

With all the issues I've been encountering with this kit, I was hoping this one wasn't an error on my part.

Thank you damouav.  Oh no, I love my new Iwata Eclipse.  I just bought myself a set of new brushes so I wanted to try them out.  I also try to keep up in my meager brushing skills every now and then.

The last time I brushed an entire kit by hand was my Zoukei Mura 1/48 Shinden.  That came out nice!  I don't think I'm going to hand paint the OS2U as the exterior color needs to be AB at the demarcation lines.

Anyways, thank you for stopping by and the read and reply!

Thank you Uncle Jay Jay.  The details are fantastic but the fit is another story all together.  I must use the old adage; "Trying to fit a square peg in a round whole!"  Everything, and I mean everything has to be dry fitted and redone by clipping, scrapping, cutting, drilling, etc.

This is not a kit for beginners.  And even for an experienced modeler it will take extra time to assemble and build.  It is always my pleasure to post my builds.  Thank you for the read and reply.  I greatly appreciate it!
