1943Mike, I was terrified that I was going to have issues with all that masking, but it worked out really well and there wasn't much to clean up! Tooth picks are a must on my bench! I used to put them back in the drawer when I wasn't using them, but I got annoyed having to open the drawer for another one every few minutes, so now they just stay on the bench!
Thanks so much Jay Jay! I did use poster tack, you can't really see it buried under the masking tape, lol. It works great! I just get mad when it stick to my fingers instead of the plane, I found a little bit of water on the tips of my fingers helps with that.
roony, yea you are probably right, but sometimes I get a little carried away, so I figured less is more in this case!
I finished up with "Flak Bait" this afternoon. Here's a whole bunch of pics!
Had a lot of fun building this bird. I figured if any subject was good to try some weathering on it was the famous "Flak Bait". Now comes the nerve racking part of hanging her on the wall.
