Model Maniac You finished it like a pro, very well done. I like the wiring you did in the gun bay. I saw you have three P-61, I've never had one.

mawright20Toshi, I recall us discussing this kit last spring. Started this kit with my son over the summer, but now on hold again as I'm back overseas for a while. Will maybe use some of your ideas...Mike

Hodakamax Hey! Just checking on you Toshi my friend! Your Black Widows are cool. That always looked like a fun kit to build. There's one in the USAF museum that I inspected and further sparked my interest in building one. Good job again Toshi! Max

Griffin25 Very nice. You have become quite accomplished as a modeler over the last few years. I remember you joined this forum around the same time as me. Great job bud!

goldhammer Another exceptional build from you Toshi. Leaps and bounds from when you started out here. I suspect another Phantom is in the near future for you.

DasBeav Another great build, Toshi! I am beginning to hate you because you build them so fast and magnificently! And I also voted you as "The Man". I can't wait to see what's next. Keep them coming!

I can’t wait to see what’s next either as I have no clue nor idea. I’m still trying to shop around. But as soon as I figure something out, you know I’ll post it ASAP!

1943Mike Good job Toshi. You decided to do a better job with more detail than your first build and you succeeded. What's next?

I learn so much from your’s and members input, I try to be a sponge and absorb as much information as possible. I thank you and FSM Forum Members for this.
As far as what’s next? I don’t know? I don’t have a stash so I’ll check out eBay or go to Hobby Lobby with Mrs. Toshi to see what catches my eye.
Last year in our three bedroom condo (If you recall, we moved into a two bedroom condo to down size) I had my Planes hanging from the ceiling. For some reason two of my Planes came crashing down and got destroyed. it was a GWH 1/48 P-61 Black Widow and a Revell 1/32 F-4 Phantom. Maybe I’ll replace these two Planes.

I wanted to add my three photos of the two different P-61 Black Widow builds three years apart. Here they are on my ”Wall of Fame” (Planes). lol!
Here‘s an interesting note, the Black Widow built three years ago is a re-release kit purchased from Hobby Lobby. The most recent build is a kit purchased off from eBay. It was a original 1974 sealed Black Widow. As far as build quality of fit and finish, both kits had their issues and or concerns of your typical Monogram/Revell models.
I learned an important rule of thumb from FSM Forum Members and I thank you for this. It’s the modeler that can take a not so perfect kit and make it look great!
The Black Widow on the right that is weathered is the first build three years ago. And of course the one on the left is the most recent build of which is a clean build.
What you see below on the left is the clean built Black Widow. Both together side by side.

ManCityFan Hey Toshi, Nice job as usual. I remember building one of these when I was a teenager. Well, it had glue, some paint, and decals, but certainly not anywhere near what you have done. Be well, my friend. D

The second one I didn’t paint and it had tube glue finger prints all over. lol! I built a mini diorama out of ply-wood and dirt. I then used all the figures that came with the kit. The man that’s just standing, the exhaust repair guy, (He’s the one that sits at the top of the wing repairing the exhaust system) and then the most famous figure of all of this kit, the guy standing on the fifty gallon drum repairing/adjusting the radar. This kit is such a classic kit for modelers of WWII aircraft. You gotta love it!
GMorrison Those cannons were so powerful that when they fired, they took about 20 knots out of the airspeed. They were operated by the pilot, the turret was operated by the gunner or in some cases the R/O. Toshi
