Hi everyone, I'm wondering what's on your aircraft never been made or out of production wishlist?

I'm starting an injection molding business and am just about ready to do an inital run of my first aircraft, a Pietenpol Air Camper. I'll post up details on where to get it when it's available.
I'm looking at what I can do next and am looking for something that either hasn't been done before or something that is no longer available that could use a new modern production kit. So I figured what better place to find out than here. Bring what everyone wants to life.

Leave a reply and let me know what's your must have kits that either aren't made or aren't in production/hard to find/old bad kits and I'll add it to the list.
If one seems doable and gets a lot of comments asking for it I'll make a design for it and it'll go off to be milled and molded.

Now that Airfix has released a better Valiant, and a better Victor, how about an improved Vulcan?

 

 

 

 

It would not surprise me if Airfix are working on that right now, people have been asking for a new Vulcan for a while. My guess is it will be out in time for 2022.

 

I'd also like to see a good 1/48 P-38 lightning, 1/48 AH-G Cobra, 1/48 B-26B Marauder, and 1/48 BV 138. I think the Cobra would be the greatest! :)

Lockheed Vega in 1/32 and a Lockheed Model 10E in 1/48 and/or 1/32.

Winny Mae and the Earhart Vega and Model 10. The flying boats from Boing and Sikorski,aka the "China Clippers". A 1/32nd scale Jenny and a few other 1/32 scale "yellow wings" from the "golden age of aviation". 

Ditto on the Bob Hoover demo aircraft. I had the good fortune of meeting him and I asked him "what is the secret to doing what you do with an airplane. Answer, "You need three things, airspeed, airspeed, airspeed". He was indeed magnanamous, and one heck of a pilot.

IIRC the YF-17 was done in styrene, have seen it around once in awhile.  By Revelle I think.

All the planes I'm going to list exists but I'd like them to be done in plastic or have a better designed kit.

Yakolev Yak-28P  this bomber design turned into an interceptor is just plain ugly. That's why I want it. Existing kits are poorly reviewed.

Northrop YF-17 the half sister of the F/A-18 Hornet originally designed for the light weight fighter competition. It exist in resin but I'd prefer plastic.

It would be kind of nice to see a model of the Convair Charger COIN aircraft, but since it was only a prototype it might not be on the top of anyones list to make a kit of it.

There are quite a few cars available in 1:43, and a fair number in 1:32.

I'll echo the 1/48 B-26 Marauder. Staying on the US medium bomber theme, a new tool Douglas A-20 in 1/48.

Others, B-32 Dominator in 1/48, Mitsubishi G3M "Nell" in 1/48, and a Messerschmitt Me264 in 1/48.

Well lets see so many  B26 Marader not Revelle or Monogram, 1/48 Short Sterling,1/48 Hudson 1/48 Halifax 1/48 Martin Baltamore.                 ACESES5

Can you give me some examples of any specific air tankers?

I'm mainly focusing on aircraft for now, maybe expand to cars and other items in the future but for now the goal is specializing in aircraft.

Pretty content with the 1/48 scale aircraft.  Here's what I'd like to see:

1/200, 1/144 or 1/72 scale air tankers (fire)

And IF we added cars/trucks:

More 1/20 early F1 or GP cars

1/24 or 1/25 brush rigs

54 dodge power wagon

2013 Boss 302 ls in 1/24 or 1/25 (its pesonal)

Ran across an article on the Vicker's 161 last night.  Was a '30's bi-plane, mid engine pusher, with an upward (at 45*) firing 37mm cannon.  Was to be a bomber inteceptor. Only one built before the project was done in.

I totally agree. I would do Bob Hoover's Aero Commander in 1/48 scale. Just make sure it comes with the liitle glass of water on top of the insterment panel 

One other suggestion to go along with the earlier Pan-Am flying boat is the classic 314 Clipper.

Me too!  The old front engined cars.  I'll take them in 1:24 o4 25 too.

With all the cool heavy bombers coming out now in 1/32, I wish someone would do a new tool B-17 and B-24 in a more manageable scale. Tamiya 1/48 B-17!!!

Cadet Chuck: What a fantastic aircraft. I am a big fan of civil kits as there aren't that many out there and those that are, aren't the best quality by a far stretch.

I'm actually working on the old Mongram 1/48 P-61 right now. The fit is less than desireable, so I totally agree that a really good version of that would be good to have out there.
The mold maker I have has assured me that the quality will be excellent. I explained that I need to be able to see subtle fabric detail at 1/48 scale and they have assured me that it is possible, so fingers crossed we can bring some new modern tooled kits to market.

I'm loving all of these suggestions so far!

The Pietenpol will be 1/32 scale and include 3 engine versions, 3 wheel versions, 2 landing gear configurations and the single and 3 piece wings along with the optional folding centre section and cut-out centre sections as well. It should be available mid to late summer.

And yeah, wouldn't mind seeing a new 1/48th B-26 either. The Monogram kit isn't bad but neither was their P-61 and I picked up the Great Wall P-61 for Christmas and it blows the older kit away. A new technology Marauder could be amazing. 

Same with a P-38, crazy to me that there are four kits in 1/48th and they're all fair to middling in quality. I really wish someone like Tamiya would do a new tech kit. 

Many years ago, I had a small model (1/72?) of a Rockwell Aero Commander, circa 1960, a civilian light twin that I took many business trips on, which my employer owned.  Took my earliest informal flight lessons in it, too.  I have always had a soft spot for that airplane, and would love to have a 1/48 or 1/32 model. However, there would probably not be much of a demand for that model....

a good "Tamiya quality " 1/48 B-26 ,the poor Monoville is the only game in town

a good 1/32 OS2U Kingfisher

a 1/48 or 1/72 Martin M-130 China Clipper flying boat. it's only available in a poor Glencoe 144 scale
