Thanks guys! I know what you mean Bish, I can see why they were having problems with such a big gun on it.

Nice job on a tough kit. Nailed the camo too.

I've often ondered if they sent Luftwaffe types over to Army PAK school.

Ok, first thing when setting up your kannone is to find a good ambush position--er, you lads in Feldblau can skip this bit . . .

Or if they just dragooned some Wehrmachter to be flying operators for the PAK.

Awesome Kanonenvogel James!  Looks just right, and ready to go hunting for some T-34s!

Makes me regret selling off mine.

Thanks Trey!

I managed to get the decals on and a panel line wash done.  The decals behaved pretty well after a few applications of Micro Sol.

Wow, it's been awhile since I've posted any progress.  I don't know why, but my builds always tend to slow down when I get to the paint stage.  But, I finally have her painted.

Looking good so far with this 88. I've got the Dragon Mistel kit with an 88 in it. May have to give it a shot.

As Real G says, they are instrument gauges. I had them on my 72nd 188 as well.

Real G

I believe the clear parts on the engine nacelles contain instruments(!).  To reduce clutter in the cockpit, some German planes had engine instruments mounted on the nacelles.  Weird but true.  The Henschel Hs-129 had them too, but that was out of necessity due to the very narrow armored cockpit.

Yep you hit the nail on the head. Bf-110s had that as well.

Bob, I would say you’d want the raised circles to remain clear and the rest to be painted.
