The Mig came in a gunfighter set with a 1/32 F-4. THAT was a big jet too.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I concur on the date of that big MiG-21. In the early 70s, my mom divorced my dad and moved us into my grandparent's home. I have an uncle who is 14 years older than me, and he was getting ready to start dental school and was still living at home. He had that MiG kit, and one day he caught me thinking I was going to sneak it to my room to build it. He wasn't very happy with me.

Yeah, that happened...  Got these from Goodwill for $20!  The top is an unopened F-15C Eagle in 1/48.  The bottom I have dated to around 1975.  It is a Mig 21, is complete except for missing decals.  Other than the cockpit and engine being off the spars and the box being trashed it's perfect.  Someone did put the engine halves together but that shouldn't be an issue.  I would consider saving it but with it being opened and all the loose pieces I think I'll put it on the list to build.  It's going to be big!

Oh, and they threw the balsa plane in for free. :)
