Hello. This is the first time to use Google Photos for somthing like this.

You don't really count editing the last two post as new, but I have add new pictures that I haven't posted yet.

I thought I would have a problem in this step. I'll bring it up latter.

Contuneing step 6.

I have finished the Port machine gun rack with added sleves for the 50 caliber Machine guns Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos  Guns painted Aircraft Interrior Blackm, Alumium sleves holding the Bulets with Brass painted cases and Brass caces Copper bullets wirth Steel barrels.

Sorry I still have afew pictures and words to add!

Greatings. It has been along time scense I have uploded any new pictiures.

But I have taken alot finishing step 5.

Here's the forward canopy with rearview mirror                                                      Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

the mirror filled in the molded gap in the canopy and the place where I needed to paint Interior Green on the inside of the canopy                                                                   Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

After looking at a couple pictures, I saw that I am going to need to remove a little to match the real plane.                                                                                         Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

To help sauport the Tail wheel assembly with adding a .100 2.5mm rod                         Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos   Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

I finished modifying the base, with the notch for the.100 2.5mm rod. sanded the molded flat sided tire. But now I wish I could have figured out a way to make the Tail wheel roll.                                                                                                               Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

Before I attached the Tail wheel assembly, I thought I would test fit it.                           Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

I attached the port inner landing gear door. I plan to add the door strut, that would halp guide the closeing of the door.                                                                                    Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

In this step I see they want to attach the antenna                                                       Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

and the center line hard points.                                                                                  Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

I was luck enough to remove them before they broke. I'll stick them back on when it's on it's wheel's

So I went to the next step. Starboard Wing.                                                                 Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

After seeing the molded in shell ejection slots                                                              Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos   but no corresponding holes under the .50" (12.7 mm) Browning Maching Gunns              Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

Why not just dig them in, but I coulden't make them any longer, because then I would probally remove the slot's I need to attach the four guns.                                             Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

As you read this, I have already painted the gun compartment yellow zinc chromate.

Before I dug in the holes under the guns, I looked for any good references. When I found this YouTube video. I had to watch it twice before I noticed the plane is vibriting    8 .50 Cals Firing on the P-47 Thunderbolt - YouTube

Alot like it name sake. The A-10 can only fire its 30 mm GAU-8 Avenger rotary cannon in short burts, because the blast will force the plane backwards.

Thank You for Your Time!

Thank You! Well I can tell you if I didn't have amazing reference pictures I don't know if I would have even though about doing it.   This is Huge kit, why not try to add any detail's I can, including reworking the Prop.

The only wild thing I have thought about is maybe make the Main linding gear work.        I won't really know untill I get to the parts.

Hello everyone. With all the Pictures I have taken, and yet to post. I thought I would just make a YouTube video with the pictures you have seen and some you haven't yet.

I made two videos, the first one, I made my posts to small! In my second video, you can easily read them!! But I did make one "lkittle" spelling oops. Embarrassed I can live with it everyone else can?

In both of my videos, I if asked everyone, if they wanted to. Listen to some period music on Spotify. Or just follow this link, Here My build from the start.

But if you want to continue from my last picture? Building Kinetic Models. 1:24 Scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" Part 1

Thank You so much for Your Time!

Hello. Its been awhile. Here's some more details I have added to the 4th step.

With all the other details I have done, I thought I would open the Coweling flaps. The with the glueed together Starboard and ventral pieces of the coweling.                          The open flaps look better open, than the molded flat part.

Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

Test fiting the flaps on the flugue.

Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

I added #103 plastic strips inside a couple cowel pieces,

Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

So when I put together the Flugue. I will be able to remove the coweling to show off the front part of the Engine and remove the pannel to show off the back half.

I am working on removing all links to my shutterfly pictures. Beacuse they wont allow external links. This will be a little like time traviling. But as of March 25th 2023.

Hello. Been a little while, But I finely finished the Port and Starboard back half of the engine details!

Here's the finished Port side

There is some finer piping I could have added.

Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

But looking through the panel I removed, you really couldn't see them anyway.

Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

While I was working on adding the detail Tubing and wiring on the starboard side.
It rolled off my workbench and hit the flour, Snaping off the post at the prop base. Embarrassed                        I carefully removed the crankcase cover.

Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

This pretty much where I was when I broke the propeller shaft, I drilled in the support. The shaft and prop are back together.

Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

The starboard side is finished. But like the port side                                                                 there are some finer detail wires I could have added.

Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

But looking through the open panel, you really wouldn't be able see them.

Photo in Building Kinetics 1:24 scale P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback" - Google Photos

After finishing, All the engine details. Forward and back. I will be mounting the Engine and Cockpit into the fuselage and stick them together.

Then I need to floor wax my canopy.

Thank You for Your Time!

I'm hoping this works.

Thank You very much! Now I can take off both engine pannels, I'm working on a way to mount and take them off with a magnet.

Just to let You and everone know I am not posting every picture I have taken. I still have a limited amount of pictures space on my Flicker account. But I should have enough space to finish this kit and extra.

Anyway, I am also working on a YouTube video, with all my Pictures, and some word's, along the way of my build.

Hello.                                                                                                                               The back part of the Engine and Air Duct part are now attached, the 60lb test fishing string is for added detail I'm planing to add.                                                         https://flic.kr/p/2mLuNMw

And with that, step 3 is done.                                                                                        https://flic.kr/p/2mLwQug

Step 4 is going to get Big fast.                                                                                       https://flic.kr/p/2mLwQA3

The first thing I thought I would do is stick together the Cockpit and Wing support.        https://flic.kr/p/2mLpjjd

With all the details I'm planning to add, what good is it if you cant see it.                       So I cut out a panel on the port side of the main body.

I opened up the pannel as far forward and back, because that is where is the firewall ataches, to keep the strength of the part.                                                                    https://flic.kr/p/2mLuP1s https://flic.kr/p/2mLxVAC https://flic.kr/p/2mLxVCS

When I get all the details added it will look great to look through the open pannels.        As I type this, I have already opened up the Starboard side. But I have yet to take a picture of it.

After the glue was dry for the Cockpit and Wing's support, I thought I would test fit the Cockpit and the Engine, to see what they will look like when I glue them in before I stick both sided together.  https://flic.kr/p/2mLwQMA

With a little help form alittle tape. Yes that's the same 6" 15 MM ruler under it.

Thank You for Your Time.

To meet an actual piolet Wow I think your Bubbletop build up look's amazing!

I was just looking for some reference picture's of the plane Squirt II. When I found a black and white image of the piolet and some infromation where he was posted and batttle group he was in.  https://flic.kr/p/2mBMZNn

And I am trying to respective to what I did by putting as much detail in this kit as I can in to this huge kit.

Very nice work Roy! Toast Detail work ie outstanding! P-47's are on my short list of loved planes. A very close friend of mine was a pilot of P-47's in WWII. Our club always invited him to our meetings to hear his stories. We never got anything done at those meetings. Wink. I made a 1/48 model of his P-47 and presented it to him on his 95th birthday. I will try to post a link to photos of it.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/3nZZoeTsDmmEiJtF7

At one of our meetings, I found a film similar to the one linked to above training P-47 pilots and we showed it to Joe. After the first 3 or 4 items were shown, Joe was one step ahead of the instructor for the rest of the film. One of our club members is a pilot going for his Multi license and a major in the CAP. He said that Joe could fly a P-47 on that day with no problems. He was in good shape with good eyesight. We were all amazed at his memory recall. Sadly Joe passed away a few months after his 96th birthday.  A couple of the markings on the plane were questionable but they came from Joe himself. His license plate was P-47.

I'll be following your build. Keep up the great work.

Thank You! Like most of the WWII planes, and by the instructions. Olive Brab and Light Sea Gray. The closest off white color I can get to is Tamiya's TS-7 Racing White, except It's spray paint. https://flic.kr/p/2mBMYnw

As for shelf room. I'm planing to hang it form my cealing.

Thank You! Yeah It's going to take a lot of cealing room when I hang it up.

The measurements on the box is in mila merters. Length 458mm. Around 18" inches long ,and 518mm wide. Around 20" inches. https://flic.kr/p/2mBMYnw

And with 250+ parts with puddy and paint, probally going to be a little heavy? Defiantly going to be Big!

Progress on the Jug is looking great!  Can't wait to see this model when it's completed.  Have you decided on a color scheme and markings yet?  Clear out plenty of shelf space because I've made a 1/24 Stuka and P-40 and they take up a lot of real estate.  Good luck with the rest of the build.

That's cool! As for the size of a P-47 Thunderbolt. One of It's nick names is the flying tank! But I think It's that big because of the engine. And the Airplane name sake Aircraft, that was built around a 30mm GAU-8 rotary cannon. A-10 Thunderbolt.

I built a 1/24 scale Bf109 around 10 years ago. That's as far as I go with size but THIS.....is a much larger aircraft than the 109 is. Looking good so far.
