For masking the canopy i use crepe masking tape. It sticks well and conforms well to the curves. Best of luck with the P38 not an easy first kit...Gregers

If the cockpit is all finished and the canopy will be closed, go ahead and mask it and paint. If you are going to have an open cockpit, paint then install the canopy. Leave the props off till after painting as it is hard to mask around them without damaging something.

Canopy and painting

Hey all, I'm getting close to time to prime my first model aircraft and i'm wondering if i should attach the canopy (and nose/propellers for that matter) before priming and just mask it or if i should leave the canopy off (mask the cockpit of course)and attach it after priming/painting. Thanks in advance for any advice!
