KI-61 cockpit color?

  • I'm building hasegawa's 1:48 KI-61 kit w/an aires cockpit, and I wanted to know if any of you knew what color I should paint the interior. The instructions say RLM Sandgelb, but I have some conflicting references, and I don;t have that color. Does anyone know what color I should use?

Current Builds: If I were to list everything I have in progress, it'd take way too long! Some notable inclusions:

    Hasegawa 1:48 KI-84

Tamiya 1:48 P-51D (in Iwo Jima long-range escort markings)

    4 (yes, four) Tamiya 1:48 F4U-1s (1x -1D, 1x -1A, and 2x -1s)

  • the Japanese Hein Tony's interior was an off color Tan RLM 79 is the closest other than the White Insign's Kawasaki Interior Brown (which is supposed to be on the mark) and the direction are correct for the color of Tan

  • OK, so would testor 1/4 oz. bottle "dark camo tan" acrylic be close enough (it's the only tan color I have)?

  • Yeah that'll work just lighten it up a bit with yellow or white and it'll work
