I believe they were bought by Testors. Personal opinion is that Testers first try at acrylics was so bad that they bought Pactra and adopted their formula. The reason I say this is that the new Model Master Acrylics smell very similiar and spray very similiar to Pactra. I liked them. They airbrush well, and shelf life was very good. I still have some of their paint and it been several years since they stopped production. Also I thought that they did an excelent job at matching their paints to FS numbers.

They were bought out by Testors. They droped the line when the first Model Master acrylics came out. Which if anybody knows was the worst stuff out there. Tamiya and Polly Scale are probably the best stuff out there today. And Gunze's not to bad. If you can find it! They still make Pactra for RC cars though.

The latest acrylic paints are Polly-S , Model Master, and Aeromaster ( if you can still find them). There are others like Tamiya, Badger, Gunze-Sanyo and Pactra.
Testors does both acrylic and enamels...Basically, you have a lot of choices nowadays, it's up to your individual taste. I personally use the first three mentioned above. Some of the others are good for things like making colored lights, etc...

Whatever happened to Pactra Acrylics?

I just got back into the Hobby after about a 8 year break. I used to like using Pactra Acrylics (same sized bottle as my Passhe airbrush, easy to clean, good choise of FS colors).

Anyone know what ever happend to them? I may have heard that Testors Model Master bought them but I'm not sure. However, isn't Testors Model Master enamels?
