That looks so good!, the colors are very well paintbrshed, with all the cammo. The figures truly represent what is on the photo. You should think of putting it on a base with the photo attached and small explanation. Only WWII would know what is this about...simple mortals.  need to know it is an actual German tank captured.

Good to have another one finished.

Ok, some small udpate, I ahd to see if the masking was OK and how it would look like overall.

Started added the other parts, and some small drybrushing and rusting..started to glue the sides. I still have to paint the cammo on the outside and detal everything out, including the tracks.

I want to build a base with fresh mud...just if I have time and money... 

Terry: Damn, now that's a gorgeous looking King Tiger! Everything about it looks just spot-on and I love those pieces of cloth with the stars on them! The figures are all looking great too!

RBaer: Your "Frankensherman" is taking shape very quickly! Great work all around!

Thank you Sir!  I'm having a blast getting into the armor genre!  You can do so many different things with armor you can't with planes!  It's very cool.  And it being my first tank and white wash....it was a little nerve racking!  Thank you again!

Hey everyone!  Great stuff being built here!  Garzonh, man, what a great build!  The chipping is awesome!

Well, I decided to go with just 2 round fuel tanks and a tool box.  Going to leave it simple like that.  Had to manipulate some old Mono decals for the markings.  Tried to make them look like some hastily painted markings.  Still need to blend them in a bit, mud her up, and throw a coat of dull on her.  I ordered the dry transfer flags from Archer last night.  Anyone used these before?  They have a vid on YouTube and it looks like it is pretty easy and looks great!  Thanks for checking it out!

Eagle its looking good, you can dust up the decals a bit with some earth brown pigment that way they don't look brand new. Just a little to start, then as much as you think is right.

Thanks guys for the real nice comments, I guess I got out of it what I wanted, to get as close as I could to that December day in Germany where the boys were coming back with their prized Tiger.

Now thats the spoils of war. Most guys brought back helmets….

I've started on my Bandai 1/48 T-34 76 today.  I am going to model a Russian T-34, fighting against the Russians as a part of the German Army, which in yet another about face fought against the Germans during the Prague Uprising in May 1945.  Fascinating!  I have been able to find reference to 3 T-34's in this incident, one of which was a 1941 model with the six sided turret that the Bandai model replicates.

All I've done so far is clean up the road wheels and idler/drive sprockets.  I have also cleaned up the main hull and hull top.  The model has interior as well as engine and transmission detail, it looks like I can leave the turret and engine cover as removable pieces as they fit rather well.  The molding quality is top notch.

Here is the chevron of the Russian Liberation Army which is on the tank turret.  POA is Cyrillic.  The POA was composed of Russian POW's, and other anti-communist, or at least anti-Stalin Russians, including White Russians, and was supported by the Germans.

nice T-34 EAGLE. good to see you coming over to the dark side. now to drag you into the abyss of 1/72 which i got into 46 months ago.

the white wash looks really good. the "handpainted" markings are difficult to do because of the scale. to make them look good in 1/35 they would be awful at full scale. you might try s fine paint brush with some white, think about how you would paint a real one freehand and add a little thickness here and there. DON'T OVERDO IT. our eyes, as i am learning in an art class, will interpret ans "see" things that you want to see. just a thought. i freehand arab numbers and Hebrew numbers and will try arabic writing next.

After my last update, the interior was left to brood for a while as I tackled the suspension.

The kit provides both metal springs and rods cut to proper size.  I found it quite difficult trying to attach the final nut on the end of the brass rod.  So I used some of my own 0.3mm brass cut in longer lengths.  Once the nut was super glued in place, the rod was  trimmed.

I then returned to the interior.  There was some plumbing near the ceiling, so a section of sprue cut to length was wrapped in brass, followed with some more brass as a shield.  This was finished off with some brass rod bent to represent the pipe.

The other major item requiring attention was the arm supporting the driver's visor plate when in the open position.   Not exactly like the pictures in the walk around I had linked earlier, but a decent improvement from what the kit had provided.  Made from both plastic and brass rod, as well as some sheet (plastic and brass).  

Still to be added are a set of control levers made from plastic rod.   Theses will be located on the floor on either side of the driver's feet.

Jack first what a nice job on the figure, honestly I don't know how you do it and those pieces are so small to be scratching out parts. Hopefully the rest goes smoother, but thats a nice touch.

Jeaton we don't see a lot of 1/48, seems like a great scale to work in I know Tamiya has a nice line of products there. Does the Bandai kit provide the decal you'll need or is that something you'll have to print out. Cool subject BTW, it's amazing what you can find with some deep research.

Jack, I knew that was a small tank, but having a driver in there really makes it obvious.

I had a little time Friday night, then came down with the "office flu", spent the most gorgeous weekend in months in a daze, drat.

So for Friday, I got the Verlinden smoke dischargers on, and finished the bits under the rear plate and the engine deck, then called it quits. Argh....

Eagle: Lookin' good! I too would note a little dirt or something on the insignia would be great, maybe a little whitewash slopped over them too.

Eagle-nice job on the white wash. I always have trouble do winter camo but you pulled you off nicely

Tim, Aaron this has been a trying build but I think I'll call it completed. I had hoped to add a couple German Village store fronts but right now I have to turn it in without them. Maybe I'll add it in the Diorama Forum at a later time.

Terry, that's an incredible model. Congrats on finishing it! All of the additional work you've done has really paid off. I'll add it to the Hall of Victorious Awesomeness. Make sure to add the OAGB badge to your sig line.

Aaron and I have NOT done a vlog for the OAGB. Not because we haven't meant to or wanted to, but because we're lucky to see out of our offices right now.

But now that we're being called out for it, I'll find somewhere to squeeze these into the schedule, especially since you all deserve it and because we have extraordinary builds from all of you. So, let's see what we can do here in the next couple of days.

Haha! We can't reveal that yet. Aaron and I aren't finished with our AFVs. Plus, I don't want to put any pressure on the guys who are just coming online now with their builds. Suffice it to say, I don't think anyone will expect what's coming next.
