Well, you know, wherever there's a Monogram kit, the mafia will be there.

those monogram drop tanks are just not useable!

Blasphemy!!! INFIDEL!!!

Wink

One of the tanks has the filler cap on the wrong side.  I kept the good one to use with a future kit and used fine wire to make shackles.  The wrong part could be used, but I don't think the effort to switch the plumbing, or the gas cap, over is worth it.

I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.

Have fun.

MV, it has been nearly three years. This one finished up nearly two years ago now... time flies.

And I must say that it is really great to see such intereat and enthusiasm for these kits and an Episode IV. I think late summer may be a good time?

With all this interest, you may want to try to find a way to start it sooner.

Where ever he may be... he poked his head in briefly after the last format change under a new screen name, then silence...

Don Stik & other members of the familia.  I present my two year (or is it three?) over-due P-51D:

No Resin here. Only AMbits is the rear canopy which is squadron vac job. I stole the sway braces from George Preddy's Hasegawa mustang kit. Filled all open panels. Rescribed. Gave it new guns and did major surgery on the spinner.  Had a post-decal masking malfunction with the nose art; however, it looks like it's naturally peeled off paint. I have a replacement on the way to fix it. I would leave it this way if the rest of the a/c looked similarly beat up!  Oh yea, Only decals are the nose art, prop stencils and the kill markings--all else was painted on.

Now it's full steam ahead on the Razorback. Putting the guns in this week. Just got the canopy all blended in the fuselage last week. After the guns are in, things should go pretty fast. Still deciding on markings. I am starting the think it would be a good idea to choose markings/plane names based on the modelers experience building the the kit... So for the P-47, I may mark it up as "Miss-behave" of the 78th FG. And the Next Monogram P-51 will probably get the markings of "Double Trouble" form the 353rd FG Stick out tongue

Stik has already stated that he will be starting up another on in June sometime. He's got a lot on the workbench he has to clear before he can get started on a new one.

Patience gents! La Familia will start again soon!
