That is a really well designed APC. So we got jealous of that and the BTR and designed the Bradley.

Yes it actually is... and of course instead of the YPR 765/MICV that was based off the 113 and sold to many other countries, we had to go high end with the M2/M3 Bradleys. I personally preferred the West German Marder, which I got a chance to play on, once upon a time, but those can not swim. Not that we have used that feature much in actual wartime ops.

Although BMP is cramped as can be and would not fit the average US soldier, even those leaner ones of the 1970s. And comparing the BTR family of 8 wheelers to the LAV and Strykers is another case of going high end. 

Yes, of course, i didn't think about the swimming feature. This seems to have been very important to the Soviets and does make sense given the terrain of the region and that we would have blown the bridges if they had attacked.

We went the same route as you guys. You got the M 113 and Bradley and we got the FV 432 and warrior. I am sure the similarites are not a coincidance. But i didn't know the Bradley could swim, thats one feature we did not have, thankfully.

I did get close up to a BMP 1 in Basra in 2003, and cramped is not the word. I can't even see how those guys could sit up straight.

Steve, it's DML so you are halfway there already. i have a pair of 1/35 SCUDs in the warwheel/missile stash.

this is an unusual build for me because i know it will be on a base so some of the underside isn't even painted. the front cab fender wells had the same mold "holes" but this time i didn't even bother to fill them. the cab is a bit tricky. You build each side, glue one side to the engine cover, glue that to frame, glue other side and rear panel. Acetate windows were ok. I did scan them in so i could make new ones. bumper is tight and i had a gap on the sides, my fault and easily filled in with 101 size. styrene. overall the front is a tad rougher than the rest. missile is just sitting there. i think i will paint parts of it a bit darker and other parts a bit lighter.

I have struck gold...I found a set of Verlinden Desert Shield decals on Ebay that have my Division and unit on it! Woo-hoo I am cooking with peanut oil now! Not alot of progess due to work, but I will be having a building marathon tonight.

Hey guys I have to say the builds are looking great!!! Wish I could join but my only commitment right now that I can feasibly have any chance of doing is one. The FAA GB that I originally started the Buc for, which will be going again soon.

Finished up the puma. She is from 33 Squadron Pardon the green background, My White poster board got damaged and all I had was this green one.

I ended up producing a tarp to place over the open cowling, reason being some Tenax dripped onto the cowling and started to eat through the paint. So the tarp is covering it up.

I am looking at my second build which is the old ESCI 1/48 tornado and I am slowly determining that it could be quite possibly the worst kit I will probably build, but it was free so I cant complain too much.

MC, I have changed your builds on the roster from the F-14 to the T-72. I really want to see how you do it as a KO'd one  Years ago, at a LHS nearby somebody who happened to be a combat vet of this war did a vignette of a KO'd Iraqi T-62 using the Tamiya kit. It was so realistic the way he did the weathered burnt metal and the impact hole/damage. 

I'm looking forward to see what shows up next here in the near future!

Guys I am liking the progress on all the builds! Topnotch spectacle!!

Stik I am going out on a limb here as I can't stand by and just watch a GB in a conflict that I participated in. So, I am going to stick my neck out and commit with a 1/72 "Mud Hen" (F-15E). Either Italeri or HobbyBoss, or a kitbash of the two. Still doing some research on a particular plane, 88-1677. After I got out of the USAF at Robins AFB, Georgia, I hung around and eventually got on as civil service working on F-15s. One of the metal parts tags that I collected whilst there was 88-1677, which as luck would deal a royal flush, was on a decal sheet I bought years ago. Trying to find out where it was in 90-91 is the trick. The decal instructions gives two Seymour Johnson birds and a Nellis bird. 1677 being the Nellis bird. I am so hoping that it was with SJ at that time, but will wait and see how that pans out. Meanwhile I will be breaking sprue soon.

Nice PUMA B one. we armor guys use mud and oil leaks to cover our goofs. definitely have to put a spec ops helko with my SCUD after seeing your build.

Going back and forth now. the Nimrod takes big set ups and big glue joins, so it helps to have another project going.

But man, what a hassle of a kit. Dragon 1/700 LHA-1 Tarawa, circa 1989. Who knew so many small parts could fit together so poorly. I've taken major sections of it apart twice now.

GM, I'm sure that you can whip that LHA into shape with a little time and effort. It sounds like that kit is not much of an improvement, if any, over the older Revell kit.

Yes, thanks again! I found a pic of 1677 in '95 still in Nellis scheme so I figured as much it not being over there. Lol as far as actual bird to do, I could also do 88-1683, again which I worked on post war, being there shots of it on that sight with 49 missions tally and some interesting weathering, I think 1683 will be the one.

Interior partially assembled and painted in "seafoam green". FYI Krylon makes a rattle can color "Pistachio" that is an almost exact match for the interior coloring of U.S. vehicles. Its what I painted the interior with. Also managed to finish the grab handles on the left side. 

B1, that Puma looks super , the drooping blades are a great touch.

Here is some progres on my Piranha, she is more army like now.

11B, that "Pistachio" color looks damned good! Better than Tamiya Sky, and a good a match as I have yet seen to that color.
