DUKE hope you feel better.

got some more done. i put the control section together and had to work on outside seam. sanded promed repainted and didn't feather enough so resanded and reprimed and painted. another lesson learned. there is a decaled instrument panel in the compartment. obviously wheel wells aren't going to be seen so my rough fillls and sanding were good enough. decided to paint chassis black. wheels are fit tight, no glue.

saw this little bogger i missed. since i might have missile in launch mode, grabbed some styrene from the stash, cut, promed and painted. it is sand, i used white to show what i was doing.

also got the Elevator and Launcher assembled. had to take a deep breathe and easily pry the rear of the glued and painted Elevator to fit the Launcher.  also had st scrap down the Elevation piston and ream out the cylinder on the Transporter sop they would fit. this kit has some nicely fitting parts. kneeling dragon gunner shows size.

Wayne,

Could you please remove the F-14 from the roster? I will just be doing the Sd Kfz 7/1....soon.

Something I started a while back but screwed up the base coat. base coat is desert sand which has a tan hue. i modulated it with desert tan, pin washes with oil burnt umber and overspray with ComArt soft dirt.

and now the SCUD. this is an unusual build for me because i know it will be on a base so some of the underside isn't even painted. the front cab fender wells had the same mold "holes" but this time i didn't even bother to fill them. the cab is a bit tricky. You build each side, glue one side to the engine cover, glue that to frame, glue other side and rear panel. Acetate windows were ok. I did scan them in so i could make new ones. bumper is tiht but i had a gap on the sides, my fault and easily filled in with 101 size. styrene. overall the front is a tad rougher than the rest. missile is just sitting there. i think i will paint parts of it a bit darker and other parts a bit lighter.

Both look great Wayne. Is the LAV the Trumpeter kit? I did not know there was a 1/72 SCUD launcher/transporter kit around, who's is it?

AUSSIE 747 will watch your build. i do JGSDF stuff which is how i got into OTS have the JGSDF {atriot, tank transporter, Type 74, Type 90, 8x8 Recon vehicle. not to mention the 1/35 stuff..

Trumpeter LAV

Toxso SCUD-B i have a more extensive WIP in armor. This thing is in 3 GBs, OTS, Gulf War I, Artillery. makes me want to cash in some stocks and buy the Trumpeter 1/35 but instead will get Trumpeter Patriot, HEMMT tractor, and SA-8. andi have the 1/35 SS-23 in the stash.

Nice! Would love to get my hands on 1/35 Patriot set up as well. Will see what it retails for down this way and then see.

Dragon is coming out with one soon. think it's a black label kit. Trumpeter will probably cost twice as much as their Patriot is 2 kits: trailer/launcher and radar are one kit, HEMMT tractor is a separate kit. but, given how much better the Trumpeter K-5 RR gun is compared to the Dragon kit, the price is probably worth it.

Ok, I will be doing the Italeri F-15E Strike Eagle. I have the Hobbyboss kit but it lacks accuracy. Having worked on them at depot level seeing them stripped to carcuses you notice things on kits lol. Anyway here are the current pics of the proverbials and my progress so far. The parts tag is from one I worked on which wa a 49 mission vet of Desert Storm. 88-1683. If you are wondering, the stamping machine they used only had spaces for what you see lol.

Still have to add pilot keepers and paint the firing handle locations.

Managed a start on the NP-3D. Just got the basics going, cockpit installed, fuselage buttoned up and wings together with a couple of nacelles glued. Also dipped the windscreen in some future as it was replaced on another build when I got glue on it. I polished it up best I could and am getting it ready to install.

that;s coming along nicely. i was looking at my AH-6. the doors are separate on the left side but molded on the right which means i have to cut them out. fortunately i don't have to preserve them. rocket pods and i will have to find some 1/72 pilots and build the fast rope hooks and side benches. meanwhile i started on a neubaru-fahrzeug 2 german multi turret tank.

my frau's contract is over so, after holiday, i will be able to paint all day and finish up the SCUD.

Got Crackin on the AWACS, Trying to juggle this and another couple group builds

I did the normal gluing the halves together and adding the wings. I filled the seams with putty to hallow them out because they were rather deep. I added the side array antennas, nose and tail sensors which I purchased thru Contrails models. I had to sand and shape the side antennas to match closer the profile of the real deal. It will look much better once paint is applied. I am in the process of sealing gaps and working the flaps and slats.

I have an update on the halftrack. I have completed everything except the gun. I have to say, I am very impressed with this kit. Who knew? If you are looking for a 1/72 Sd Kfz, don’t overlook the ROG kit. It’s going together like a Hase kit.

This little DH-82 will be interesting for me as I need to do the final painting (like box art) before final assembly can begin.

It does however all line up nicely with the new style of struts.

MC,Theuns and Ozzie those builds are looking great!!! Got a bit of progress on the Mud Hen to show. Got the bang seats done and installed, office finished and installed on lower fuse. So wanted to button up the fuse but was getting late, so will do that in a couple days. Then bring out the bog and chisels lol. Hopefully a little careful assembly will aleviate some filling and sanding though. Anyway here's the pics.Toast

Sidepanels aren't spot on just painted to look busy.

it's starting to look like an airplane. i picked up a BdW LUCHS A2 and a Toxso SK -18 105 cannon. almost got another helo.

i would be interested in reading your technique for doing decals as i may have to make some OTS omes too. not the graphics so much as i do that, more the printing and attaching aspects.

PS i can do graphics and decals for anyone here and send them to you as a graphics file.

Theuns that lil birdie is looking great!!  I will keep your very kind and generous offer for the decals in mind! Hehehe the gears are ticking on that. Saw a pic on facebook of what looked like a C-160 painted up as a Macaw! I just thoughthow beautiful it looked and what a wow factor it would have on a contest table.

Here's my update on the dirt dobber. Got the fuse buttoned up and parts off sprue for next step cleaned up and ready for attachment. A few seams to take care of but not as bad as I thought it would be. Fit was pretty fair actually. here's how she sits at the moment. Hope to get a bit more progress tonight.Toast

Arrgh!! the rigging on this little DH 82 is driving me mad, I tried streched sprue but is was to slack. Now I am busy with EZ line but without holes for it to go into it is rather difficult to bond to the model. Atleast the decals on the T6 went on very well. Will post pix soon. Theuns
