Bish - Pitty you had such issues with your build, it was coming along really well, I have the same attitude with regards to builds. I hope you can recover and get a subject that gives joy.
Gamera - Nice pit mate, coming along a treat. Can wait to see yours done. We have a large mob of Eatern Greys (Kangaroos) on the Island I live on. You need to take care at night as they come in to the built up areas for food (grass) and two many get killied by carless car drivers.
I hope to have same progress pictures soon.

Theuns: That's some nice work! As I've said before I HATE painting yellow but yours looks perfect! And again great idea on using the brush hairs as the wires.
And lol it was hot, most of the animals were just lying around trying to keep cool. And it was a petting zoo, the kids had fed everyone till they were all fat and happy!

Alright, I've finished the other builds I was doing and now I am ready to do this one!!! I have been waiting for this! It will be my first helicopter so be gentle with me. LOL!
If anyone has done this kit, or has some general chopper advice, it will be most welcomed. ;)
I'll be doing the Minicraft/Hasegawa Hughes 500MD dressed up for the Kenyan Army! I didn't see any Kenya builds yet and I told Bish I wanted to do a country no one was doing...so here we go! LOL!
Time to wrap up the MiG. Despite the issues, it is somthing a bit different, makes a change from greens, browns and greys. And the decals are a nice touch, these are from caracal, never used this before but they are really nice.
So here are the final pics.
Next up i will be doing the Apache, really looking forward to that one, but that will be in a couple of months.

I have a 1/48 Hasegawa Harrier I started almost 10 years ago, it was a pig of a build with ill fitting parts etc. It has been boxed up till I gain the patience not to hit it with a BIG hammer, it may never see the light of day every again.

Steve, i know what you mean. I have become more selective ove rthe last few years, i have so many kits i have a real interest i don't want to spend time on subjects i don't. When i do get a kit i am struggling with or make a balls up on, how i procced will depend on the subject. It will range from just throw it together and get done like the MiG all the way to put as much into it as i can to get as good a result as possable.

Very unique paint job on a sleek looking bird! I agree, it is nice to venture away from RLM colors from time to time!

Will be the kit with a Pavla resin cocpit and AZ nose
The F1 AZ was used by the SAAF against SWAPO and Angolan forces during the 70 to early 90's

I will have to cutt off the radar sight, there is a slight difference between the AZ that had the bomb computer instead of the air radar intercept.
I am cheat a little to make it into an AZ.

The IP that I have is for the French CT/CR, same as the SAAF CZ F-1 with the radar scope on the right.
The AZ as used by the SAAF didnt have this but had a moving map display mounted centrally on the top IP, I will have to modify the IP to the correct shape.
