Bish, hate to ask this but would it be okay by you to switch to a 1/48th Hasegawa Mk. IX varient kit of that unmentionable aircraft and crosspost it to Piers /Lost Again's RAAF GB?

Edit: Hmmmmmm, may be a Mk. VIII- I will have to check...

Cliff,

I reckon it is the mk VIII (RAAF used the Vc and the VIII) - I was going to do the same crossover for the two GBs next year!

Piers: Cool! And thanks! I was almost certain she's a Mk VIII but I wasn't absolutly certain. I have a set of Aeromaster decals for the same pink elephant Censored but couldn't find the instructions for them. I may order another set though- I really fancy a Censored with a shark mouth.

So Bish, please put me down for a 1/48th Hasegawa Supermarine Censored Mk VIII if it's kosher by you.

Well, I think I have everything I'll be needing for the group builds I'm participating in for 2021. Canopy masks, camouflage stencils, and decals. Now to wait for January 1st.

Sergeant

Bish, please put me on the roster for this combo: Eduard #11146, 1/48 scale Spitfire Mk.II A/B. Polish and Canadian airmen join the RAF.

https://www.scalemates.com/kits/eduard-11146-spitfire-story-tally-ho--1311919

I may substitute this for a VB later in the year if Eduard offers one in 2021.

Thank you,

Harold

Bish I have placed my order with Sprue Brothers Models for the Eduard kit #11146 so I can start on it after New Years. Unit then I am working on the Matador and 40mm Bofors AA gun.

Have a good Christmas and New Year holiday my friend. Cheers!

Everything is gathered for the Supermarine Group Build. If everything goes right, the finished model will depict a Mk VIII of the USAAF 31 FG.

What could there possibly be to do that could be better than building a model airplane!

Lol, so true John!

Ordered the paint, masks etc for this kit and the Bf-109 last night. Should have done it beforehand but Christmas kinda sneaked up on me and didn't want to order stuff with the mail already overloaded.

Got to finish off a few things and hopefully I'll be ready to start.

Lets's get something underway, here.  Here's some pictures of my Matchbox Wellesly.  I'm waiting for a resin Bristol Mercury to come to put under the townsend ring, what's in the box is just too grim and it will be very visible.  Given the waffles that Matchbox put on the wings there is no doubt this is a Barnes-Wallis design!  Egad!!

Now that's a very strange one John.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Well, yes, there is more than a little "strange" in my stash, Steve.  It was a design similar in construction to the Wellington and made a notable long distance flight, 7,162 miles non-stop from Ismalia, Egypt, to Darwin, as a 3 ship flight.

Hello John, very out of the ordinary subject.  Which resin brand of Bristol Mercury engine?

regards,

Jack

Jack, I mispoke, it is a Pegasus, and it is coming from CMK, ordered from their store.  I do have a Mercury on the way, I think it is Vector and 1/48, but I think they have it in 1/72 also.

John, not a problem.  As long as it's not from Engine and Things - their 72nd stuff can be a let down.

Jack

Very cool! Love the look of the Wellesley. Sorta a steampunk look to me.

Some work done on cockpit on mine. Photos when I get some more work done.

Well, the fuselage is buttoned up. All of that detail I worked so hard painting is down in there somewhere. Now to sand and polish the seams, then add the canopy and wings.

Nice, Frank.  Harbor Freight sells borescopes pretty cheap.
