Mary is finally completed. The yellow stripes on the iron bombs were hand painted. I may add a standing pilot later on just to add some interest in the vignette. Please use the 6th picture for the completed page.

Photographed the Mustang out in natural light this morning to capture some of the Alclad metallic reflectivity that is present but subtle consistent with weathering in an operational combat aircraft. 

Fantastic job . I keep looking at the cockpit photos, so detailed. Super.

Hi there, Castel,

I would like to join your group build if possible.  I'm not sure what I will be building, but will be looking through the stash this week.  I'm thinking about a 1/48th scale P-51 Mustang of some kind.  Or the newish Revell 1/32nd scale P-51D?  Decisions, decisions!!

The Winjeel is coming along slowly due to work and other stuff

It is by Trumpeter. Sorry for the late reply, when one is chillin' on a beach in Dubrovnik, drinking beer and enjoying the sceenary, modeling kind of falls into second plan

Lol, thanks, I'll need it. Flying out tomorrow but Lufthansa canceled the flight, they will take us to Frankfurt, then mad run to catch a flight to Toronto then somehow to Vancouver. Fun way back to reality.

Hi Gents, Here is a mass-update on my Revell 1/72 Golden Dragons A-7 Corsair.  

It's a fun little kit. Parts go together surprisingly well. I messed up somthing though with the intake to fuselage joint and the parts would not line up like they did when I test fitted so it required an 'inside job' which required some nose surgery. That's the only hic-up so far. Right now I'm rescribing control surfaces but everything else will be left as raised details.
Also, converting this "A" to an "E" with a bit of help from a Fujimi kit...

You might as well also put me down for this Haseagawa 1/72 F/A-18A Hornet.  I put together a travel-hobby-tool-box and took this with me on vacation to see how feasable hotel modeling would be. Worked out pretty well. Got quite a few parts cleaned up... Gona be same markings as box art ; although via a superscale sheet...

Hey cbaltrin, I like the progress on the Corsair. Always like the look of them. I can totally relate to (2 per day is my limit I have found, or I start asking myself why do I build models??? ) - I don't often build my planes with a full load for that reason.

And well done being able to take the Hornet on holiday - I could never get away with that!

The winjeel has all the paint done, and the decals on too.

Revell A-7 is coming along nicely. Got the wing tips on.  Rescribed the rudder, flaps, airlerons & slats. intake filled and sanded  and added some E Bumps to the lower fuselage; All things-under-wings are cleaned up and ready for paint.

Cbaltrin, the Corsair is looking great, a lot of cleaning up there.

Castel, the Grizzly looks super. Finish is great and nice light weathering. What does SFOR stand for? That windscreen looks dinky on there though!

The winjeel is getteing closer. After the decals went on, there has been a clear coat, some washes to define control surfaces and the canopy and nose given a flat coat. Then I got to take the canopy masking off. Doing that there are are a few scratches in the black framing which will need touching up.

The front wind screen is a bit foggy - not sure why as I had future coated it before construction. I will give it a while to see what happens before I work out next steps.

Thank you lostagain, your colorful craft is coming along nicely. Those Aussie insignia on the wings caught my eye.. never realized the roos nose was supposed to point forward! I would have thought they would point inboard--I guess I should stick to stuff I know !

Man, adulting stinks! The past 3+ months have been craptacular, but I'm now happy to announce...

I'm jumping back in with my Revellogram Airacobra. I started with its front end. After deciding to keep all the panels closed, I built a couple of bulkheads and filled some of the nose with Liquid Gravity.

I also got the cockpit done, and since the armament up front wasn't going to be used, I filled that space with a bunch of pine derby car weights.

With the gun compartment and cockpit access doors glued closed, I'm considering scribing the rest of the kit. Getting the doors to fit cleanly resulted in some lost raised detail. I'm thinking a scribing will keep all the detail consistent, i.e. recessed. 

Next I plan on tackling how to build up the kit while keeping the nose gear and exhaust stacks off until after painting. I think I have a few ideas...

Anyway, until then, comments, questions and criticisms are welcome. (As usual!)

Gotta admit, it feels good to mash some plastic again!

SFOR stands for "stabilization force" wich was a UN mission in Bosnia. The winshild on Grizzly is aparently removable, but not foldable. That Winjeel looks really good. Like the sharp linee and bright colours. Well done
