B_one fixer

Looks like my second kit will be the monogram 1/48 F-15C. So a pair of Eagles for me.

The rescribing is going to be a pain on the monogram kit since its all raised detail. Can't be as bad the 1/72 B-1B rescribe job I did though.

Wow! That's a lot of scribing. You must be a glutton for punishment......

Sorry guys, I have not had much free time this week yet to sit at the desk top and modify the roster. I promise that I will take care of it on my days off. Too much of a PITA to do it from my phone while at work... Don't want to muck it up. Have a little patience Baron ;-)

Thanks, Stik, no sweat!  I was worried I might have posted in the wrong place or something.  Looking forward to the Fourth!

OK guys, the roster has been updated. If I have missed anything or anyone, please let me know ASAP.

Lew, I like the sound of the F-16XL. Like their F-20 kit, it is one of those beautiful aircraft that were modeled, but never went past the development/sales pitch stage. Such a shame to see it never went operational. Very nice choice!

Josia, you can never go wrong with one of those Century Series kits. I look forward to that build!

Baron, another bold man to tackle one of their original Quarter Scale kits. I remember seeig one of those cleaned up, and beautifully detailed in a LHS decades before the Promodeler version came out. I know what can be done. You can find instructions for your Tiffie on the Revell website, if you have not yet already.

Matt, welcome to the famlia. I look forward to seeing that F4U and whatever your second choice is as well.

freem, a pair of Jugs... something to make any guy happy here ;-)

kustom, I remember getting that BUFF kit for Christmas when I was 10. I built it that afternoon/evening... it hung proudly from my bedroom ceiling for many years afterwards.... but sadly did not survive storage very well when my stuff was packed away after I went off to Ft. Benning to grow up... oh to be a kid again...

B_one is obviously shooting for air supremacy here... the most successful fighter yet in air combat...

and again, let me know if I missed anything.

To get myself psyched, I have started reading what is so far an excellent book. It's titled "Flight of the Old Dog". B-52 story..

Hey Kustom!  All of Dale Brown's books are good!  I'd like to try and do a model of that B-52!

Still getting psyched. Got the paint ordered for the Stratofortress! Can't wait to open the parts bags... My wife said, "You know the reason you haven't built that thing in the last 15 years is we don't have room for it. I curled out my lower lip, and she gave me " the look".........

I'm thinking my second build will be just as big.... I have Monogram 1/48 B-29 Superfortress in the stash too :-)

Am I crazy for attacking two monsters in a row? Or shouldI make number two either an F-15C, classic Monogram, or a Revell F-18E Super Hornet?....... Now I'm confused.,.....

I would do the Renwal CV-38 Shangri-La but Starfighter says deck decals have an e.t.a of October. Argh.

Darrin, do you mean something other than his 500-100 Renwal set?

because I see those in stock on Mark's site along with 5 of his air wing sets at www.starfighter-decals.com/1500-de.html

come to think of it, I sort of hope you mean a set of deck markings with more modern stripe sets than 500-100 has in it.

Howdy Mr. Rex yeah if you click on 500-100 the product description says right below it "Due Oct 2014" so I thought they were out of stock. Also it says 500-100 markings are for '58 to '91. :)

Edit: I am still trying to figure this tablet out and could not for the life of me get it to cooperate on inserting an image link lol.

Stik, you can count me in. I know one will be a P-39, the other may be a P-51 or P-61, heck it might even be a TBD. Who knows.

Oh and does anyone know much about the old Monogram "young builders" kits? Are they the same as the normal kits, just bagged, or are they simplified versions of the original molds? Thanks!

Yeah, Carlos,,,,,,,still chomping at the bit,,,,,,and then Anne told me about our weekend, lol.

Since she is off starting Friday, she has a whole list of things she wants to go to, even our weather has calmed down into the 80's instead of the near 100's from two days ago.

So, I think I will be able to start on Monday. Can you believe that? I wait all this time and then have to wait until the 7th for a GB that starts on the 4th, lol.  I can't wait for her to retire too, then things won't revolve around her work schedule anymore,,,,but, she is a young'un, has about 8 more years to work, approximately.

y'all be safe this weekend
