You, my friend, are a brave soul. I'm going to have a hard enough time working on my 1/350 Indianapolis for the 45 GB, and that's not even have the kit of that WNW kit.

i like the badge too, my suggestion would be make the word BIG 2x the size of the rest of the text so, when someone looks at a cluster of badges the word BIG really jumps out.

I'd like to throw my hat in on this build with a crossover from the Bf-109 GB.  I'm doing a Revell Bf-109G6 Late version in 1/32.

Lord knows I don't know much... so i don't know if there ever was a Corsair with a bubble in the true sense like a P-51D, but the -1a was the 1st variation off the original with the bird cage and that was eliminated.

Ah but there was, the F2G "Super Corsair". The F2G was developed as the ultimate answer to the Kamikaze problem of the Corsair family, sporting a true teardrop bubble canopy and 28 cylinder P&W R-4360 3000 HP engine. See, I was right when I said, "Lord knows I don't know much..."  LOL  i always thought that was nothing more than an air racing mod version.  Ya kNow, like when they take an already gorgeous P-51D and mod it with extra streamlining, reshape the flying surfaces and add a tiny little funny shaped bubble canopy.  IT"S BLASPHEMY I TELL YA!

I was wondering the same thing myself about the Wiki article on the F2G. I just know that she is a gorgeous looking bird! I wonder if development had continued if they could not have squeezed more speed out of it with more time to fine tune the design.

I really doubt development would have continued. It seems we had pretty much reached the pinnacle of propeller driven fighters. You can only get so much out of a spinning prop. Physics, blade tips reaching the speed of sound and such ya know. The jet engine just showed too much promise.

First signs of life from this side...

Body and wings pre-assembled amd ready for primer and blue. Cockpit will require some alu, but at this stage the plan is to do that after the blue so that I do not affect the body colour (colour is quite translucent).
For those wondering WTF is going on in front - it's the P34 six-wheeler F1 car, which was the only of it's kind to be allowed to race. The big gap is for the four (small) front wheels. Told you it was a different subject to bring to this GB!  (If you have any questions about the subject, feel free to ask!)

Current state of the Cosworth engine and gearbox. More transmission work commencing shortly, but wanted to build the body bits (above) first and get them to the paint stage. Out of sequence, but allows for proper drying and no impatience for waiting times when it is actually required.

Was an article on the supers in a classic or racing bird mag a month or so ago, and which ones were used and where they are now as far as can be determined.

With the little Fokker done I 'm getting ready.  And since I can't sit on my thumbs for 3 days and the rules allow for up to 25% already completed, I might start snipping and cleaning up tonight

When I opened the box and took out all the bagged sprues I didn't know how I would ever get them organized. My little files sorter looked so...well... little. But I managed to get most of them in order with just a few that will remain in the box until needed.

AM stuff collected, so far, are the Fundekal sheet for Marine F4U-1a's, Barracdue tires amnd Vector cowl flaps

and doing this bird...

I know some of these were posted already but I'll make this the official start set of pics.

had club meeting last night and class tonight so will get to badge and post my BIG BUILD box art pic on Friday. you should send in the file holder/sprue holder to FSM tips.

Great minds think a like Wayne.   Thought of that today too.

Using the4 25% loophole rule I also cheated a little and built one of the MiG 19's engines for a special catagory for or IPMS meeting tomorrow

Out the box it builds into a nice little model on it's own.

That is a beautiful engine indeed! Did the kit come with the stand as well? That is the proverbial kit within a kit there!

Indeed it does Stick, the top "accessory pack" is a cast resin blob.
