Cat Daddy

Does frozen water count? I bought this the other day.

I gonna have to go ahead and say it doesn't fit the theme of the build. We're gonna stick with float planes and boats or pontooned helos.

LOL CD that's a good question. I don't think we thought of that.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Here are the guidelines:

Any PLANE OR HELO that can land on water and take off

Not to be a Richard, but by definition an amphibious aircraft is one that can take off and land on both land and water.

The Goose is a good example.

That's pretty funny when you think about it. They don't have to do both, but they can. Big Smile

I guess this would be a good excuse to finally build my 1/48 Grumman Goose from Squadron.  I got the "Cutters Goose" decal set for it to make it up as the plane from "Tales of the Gold Monkey".

You can join whenever you want as long as you complete your build by the deadline of Dec. 31, 2016. So, no rush.

Hi, I am interested in this GB too but want to finish my current JU88A-1 1/32 before deciding on which kit to tackle.  I have never done a GB. Is there a deadline when I can sign up?  For example, do I have to post here before Jan. 1st or could I pose in July 2016 and still get on board as long as I finish by Dec. 31st.

Thanks!

This is shaping up to be a really neat GB. I am very stoked to do this and very honored that so many of you have chosen to come along.  Definatly going to see stuff we don't see too much of and that's pretty cool. Big Smile

Here's mine, The Hasegawa 1/48 A6M2-N Type 2 Rufe, probably setting in the water by a dock or shoreline.

Even in 1/72 that should be a big kit. I love that one. You're signed up.

Ye, it does look rather large. Its the older boxing before they upgraded it. It was a gift so i am going to try and do my best with it. I also have the trolley from Kora, just need to work out a dio.

Floats and Boats: Amphibious Aircraft Group Build
Posted by BrandonK on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 1:24 PM

Well, the time has arrived to sign up for a new GB. I thought it would be fun to build a bunch of aircraft that were capable of landing and taking off on water. This can include both civilian or military birds from and time period or nation; even planes that were converted after they were built.

Here are the guidelines:

Any PLANE OR HELO that can land on water and take off

Any county, Any time period

Military or civilian

Any scale

OOB or as much AM / scratch that you can handle

Crossovers are welcome

Pre-started kits are OK, provided they are only just getting started, ask if you have a question.

The build will begin January 1, 2016 and run until Dec 31, 2016.

Steve (Modelcrazy) and myself will be hosting this build.

I still need to come up with a badge, but there is plenty of time for that.
