The 2017/ 2018 Too Little Too Late Group Build

Back in town after the hurricane fellas. I got the place as ready as I could and me and my family got tha hell outta Dodge till Sunday. All is ok here with little damage but there are parts of the Coastal Bend that are really BAAAAAAAD. Same goes for Houston with the flooding. We were supposed to get the hurricane AND  the backlash flooding but it moved north. Thoughts and prayers for those folks in Houston are ongoing as the flooding is horrible up there.

Mopar Madness

I'm in for one more bird for this GB.  This one is definitely a "too little too late" kind of aircraft.  I dont understand the need to allocate any resources to this version of the 262 since the Ar 234 was already a decent/functional jet bomber.  Oh well, heres my next contribution.

This is the Hobby Boss 1/48 Me 262 A-2a/U2.  Surface details are fine and well molded.  After doing a dry-fitting, it looks like the fit and finish of the fuselage and wing roots should be nice.

 

 

 

Looking forwardto that one Chad. I did the MPM 72nd version a few years back. I really like that variant, would not mind one in 32nd.

 Mopar. Is this the 262 that has a bombidair laying in a glass nose ?

Thanks guys!  Yes, the bombardier was on his stomach in the glass nose.  Imagine how uncomfortable those flights would have been!  Talk about cramped!

Yep that would be uncomfortable for sure.  It seems like quite a few Europene aircraft had bombidair that was in laying down positions. This one seems to be a bit later though.

This was right at the end of the war. Only 2 were bult and it never eneterted service.

Got some good progress made this weekend on the Komet build.  The Scheuchschlepper (towing vehicle) is done:

the underneath was bit harder it has the thin lines and the thicker lines also the later proved to be a bit harder. i may come back with the RLM76 and see if i can clean it up.

i didnt take out the the diagram for the paint and i should of the kits lines ore more strait and mine are squirly. so now should i clean it up or leave it ? mmmm lol this is a aircraft that never flew so i took some liberty and added the spots on the motor cowling. like the yellow 10 has being there both late war FW.

this is what it looks like off camera. i dont know why hobby boss dose this but the colors on there sheet do not match there color call outs. for the top they call for RLM82 and RLM62 there color print look like RLM82 AND RLM81 look at my paint and you will notice the light and dark are opisiset of there color art. my fault its not the first time i have done this on a hobby boss.

looking nice there mopar i have built a few off the hobby bosses and they dont seem to have any problems when it comes to nice fitting joints. all have bin a joy to build.

Geez, those white squiggly lines are cool!  May I ask psi did you sprayed with?

 mopar i have a barbour fright pump with no tank. its  a badger 150 gun set up with a small needle and head set. with a 8 foot line with the air adjustement at the gun wide open it shows at the pump to be at 45 psi. the reason i mention the line is from what i understand the longer the hose the more psi that drops at the gun.very little pull back on the triger the gun tip guard was sliding along the model. i used model master arcrylic paint strait out the bottle. i have never done it before only took .5 hr or less but i spent a few minuets on card bord with windex and difurent guns before  i setteled on the 150 and psi. i found it was better to keep moveing with long runs. thats why it whent so quick if i stoped i made a mess. lol

BD, amazing job on the camo, love the pattern and really nice seeing it underneath as well.

Mopar. Bish. Thank you for the words of encouragement. It's a different kind of camo for wich is why I picked this build.

Armor.  gratz on the new kit. That is one I would like to have a go at. You can find a documentary on utube about NASA? Studying the original and then building one and testing it at there stealth testing area.

Maybe it was lockeed either way it's interesting.
