I think I'm finally got to be liberated from a nasty model ship and a nasty real world. Sign me up for a Tamiya 1/48 Beaufighter. (Does it need RAF markings? It did good service in the Med, but it was the best attack plane the Aussies and the NZ had in the Pacific.) I've got one of the Spitfires to back it up if need be. Maybe a Airfix Hurricane. Barring the "big one" I'll get you one at least.

A model boat is much cheaper than a real one and won't sink with you in it.

Yes sir PE came with it, what you see is the oil cooler screen front and back. The resin parts came with it as well and are very crisp. Hope I can do it justice. Gonna be fun.

Yes Bish, it is the old monogram kit, the fit is just to bad and with the raised pannel detail it is a nightmare :-(

Bish I'd like to join in this one. I've got the 1/32 Mk Vb Spitfire from Hasegawa. I also have the Airfix 1/48 Hurricane that I've started on already. I've got cockpit assembled but the fuselage halves aren't together. Is it too far along to build for this one?

No worries Theuns. Isn't that the old Monogram kit? I didn't think it was that bad, though was over 30 years ago when i built it. Let me know what you come up with.

Yep, I'm looking forward to this one too. I pulled the box out last night and looked through the instructions and which camo/version I'm going with.

I need to check my paint stock. Hmm

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Bish

I have not got to build any opf the new Airfix kits yet, but they do seemed to have upped their game a lot from the old days.

I've built the Hurricane I and Spitfire Vb, and am in the midst of the BF-109E and the fit on these is fantastic; the detail on the Hurricane and Spitfire Vb in 1/48 are second to none.

Bish

Got you down Steve, and your forgiven.

Is that the one they released a couple of years ago with one aircraft sporting a yellow nose.

It is indeed, though I will be making the version from 602 Squadron. I read good reviews, so I grabbed one.

Hey Bish, I think that my Wyvern S-4 would be more economical for me to roll out. I will build the Tempest first and if time allows sneek the Wyvern in. Box art of both forthcoming this weekend. Hope this doen't cause any confusion.

It doesn't take a lot to confuse me Big Smile. It would be nice to see a Wyvern, unfortunatly it was only used by the Royal navy.

Easy Gamera LOL, I'm a fat kid LOL with floaties LOL. Bish, I picked the kit up at a show in Renton,Washington( USA) a few years back I can't say that it's a limited run but I haven't seen it on any shelves. It is all injected mold and look clean. Before the build kicks off I will get a cover shot posted.

Both of those sound cool guys but I really want to see that 1/32nd Tempest built!

I've been staring at that for over a year now like a hungry shark eyeing a fat kid on a cheap swim float...

Hi Bish,

I'm overdue for another Airfix Chippy. Please mark me down for one. It will be with some aftermarket decals, as I've already done all of the Airfix options over the years. You're lucky it's not a Spitfire XIX, but I can't promise that I won't :)

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
