What can I say.. It's hard to model when your in da joint.. anyway, you know I figure, eh, dis thread could use some action... so I got da old thunderbolt out and started working it over. I fixed my goof painting invasion stripes where the old stars and bars should be by reverse masking and laying down some dark green. Then I had to come up wit some fuselage codes, cuz some goomba skimmed the only set off the old aeromaster sheet for anutter build, if you know what I mean... Well, I gots all da markings on and sent da kit to da cleaners for a nice bath , so I can lay me down some flat coat wit-out a couple years of dust under da paint.

That Deuce looks fantastic Steve, I wish we saw more of them here.
Here's some progress on the Corvette. The body is sprayed, but it still needs a gloss coat and a polish. There are decals for the hood, but given their age I thought I'd test them. They hold together OK, but there is a gluggy white 'glue' that seems to remain visible after the decal is applied. Has anyone got any fixes for this ? I haven't seen it for a long time and it may be specific to Monogram decals.
Since I've taken the photo I've also sprayed the chassis, and primed the engine. The chassis had quite a few sink marks that needed to be filled. It took me a long time to get my old jar of MM Chevrolet Engine Red open, I worked out that I last opened it in 1991, but the paint looks fine now that its open.

Well, aside from waiting for some EZ Line to arrive so that I can add an antenna wire, I am calling this one done. This build was a good learning experience for planning to improve a few more AMT P-40s that are in my stash. But I won’t be tacking those anytime soon.
