Thanks guys!
I can't say enough about the Tamiya 1/48th line of Corsairs. They're simply some of the nicest kits I've ever assembled. Great detail, beautiful engineering, and a joy to build.

Got a start on the 'cat. Going to be marked and painted as "The Wandering Witch", RZNAF.
Fuselage halves painted and side glazing in
Not much to the pit....just a few dabs of silver for the IP
Ready to button up hull, dry fit was pretty decent
GH: Looks good!!! Going to be one heck of a masking job on the waist observation blisters.
Going to put the canopies and blisters on after paint. Going to use Don's trick of masking for the horizontal frames then the verticals after the horizontals are hand painted. Only two colors on her, sky blue and white/gray.
This thing is strictly old school kit, but going to be a fun little build. Haven't decided if I want to put her at anchor on water or on beaching gear on ground. Leaning toward a calm water/dock setup.
She was written off after a hard landing not long after getting into theatre.
Nice start GH.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Theuns
Johnny, nice start there.
Theuns, thats come on quick, looking really nice.
TJ: Looks good! Great to see some more modern subjects too.
Theuns: Fantastic progress there! Always thought this was a nice looking planes.
After a slow start this week, I had a chance to get some work done today. Fuselage sides are assembled; now on to the cockpit.
I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.
Have fun.
Nice work on the Eurofighter Johnny. Love the Tiger Moth Theuns, one of those models that makes me want to start one.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
Nice work everyone (how have actually started), we do have 12 months to complete the builds, so I should be good.
Looking forward to seeing more builds.
The Esci MiG 29 is not a very accurate kit, as i understand it, it was one of several kits rushed out before anyone got a proper look at the type, but it serves my purpose.
I am adding an Aires resin pit and some Eduard PE both designed for the Italeri kit. First task was to chop away the front of the cockpit and fit the resin piece. Its clear the dimensions are different, the Aires instructions call for the sides to be completly removed but this would have ben to much, but its good enough.
I then got the pit together and painted. At first i painted the blue green i thoguht all Soviet/Russian pits were painted. But when i checked pics of MiG 29 pits for the detailed painting i noticed they were light grey. After checking, i found out this was indeed the colour from around the time of the MiG 23.
The pit was then fitted and fuselage put together.
So next some clean up and get the rest of it together.
A very productive weekend. Starting to look like a Typhoon
Cheers TJ, i was pretty pleased with that.
Typhoon is looking great, productive indeed.
TJ, that Typhoon is looking great! I was at the RAF Museum in Cosford yesterday, and they have one of the prototypes there, it is a big kite.
Best Regards
Mark
"bis vivit qui bene vivit"
Bish that is an impressive start mate, good work with the cockpit. Its a big kit by the looks of it, well done.
Cheers Mark, its actually not as big as i thought it would be. Its pretty close to the F-16 when i compared it next to a falcon i have built.
I must get over to Cosford at some point. Would not mind seeing the Typhoon close up. Been fairly close but they were usually taking off or doing a fly by along the run way, would be nice to get right up to one.
Gamera I can't say enough about the Tamiya 1/48th line of Corsairs. They're simply some of the nicest kits I've ever assembled. Great detail, beautiful engineering, and a joy to build.
Nice starts guys, all are coming together nicely.
Always thought Tiger Moths were one of the most beautiful of all the bi-planes.
Colin, Bish, TJ: Those look great guys!!!
Looking forward to getting back to mine, I brought a couple of tanks to work on in my motel room in the evening but the last thing I need to do is start yet another kit...
Gentleman, many of you are off to great starts! Keep up the good work.

On the bench: 1/48 Eduard MiG-21MF
1/35 Takom Merkava Mk.I
I agree Bruce, some good work already here. I've started my Airfix 1/72 Hawk T1a Red Arrows 50th Anniversary scheme. Looks to be another nice kit from Airfix.
Cheers guys.
Nice to see yoiu up an running Tony. Will be keen to see this one, Airfix have just released a new boxing of that kit i am thinking of getting.
Is it too late to enter this? If not, I'd like to enter my two RAAF Meteor F.8's. I only started them on the 5th of May.

Nope, not to late at all. Was woundering if you would want to join after seeing your opening thread. I'll add them both to the roster, and welcome aboard.
Thanks Bish.
