Some WIP photos from the little flakpanzer

A. Wheels assembled and painted. Camo colors were airbrushed and then the rubber part was painted with a thin brush and a water thinned Vallejo black gray.

B. Lower Hull assembled and painted with the 3 camo colors (Dark Yellow, Red Brown, Olive Green)

C. Upper Hull Assembled, small parts like tools, etc are left out for the moment and will be placed after major painting

D. Flak quad-gun base assembled

E. Tracks assembled (wheels were used as a jig) and first coat of paint + a dark wash were applied

F. ...inally, Flak guns were assembled and their barrels drilled (not perfect but hope they will fool...ehh, please the viewer's eye)

I will try to speed things up within the next days.

All comments more than welcomed, thanks for watching

Nick: Excellent result. I only wish the photos were larger so I can zoom and enjoy.

You motivated me to start a Revell 1/72 Koenigstiger and attempt to paint the ambush camo.

Cheers and thank you for the inspiration

thank you Gamera and Kentucky colonel . The figure is 1/35th scale about 2inches. I did manage to build this 1/48th scale kettenraftrad that came in the Do335A kit ..I cant find the wip pics but gloss and flat coats.

Nick: Fantastic job there on the bike and the rider! It's what? About 2in / 6cm long? Really nice work there on something that small!

Thanks for them shots those figures look great. I didn't catch the hatches being white. I don't think I would change it at this point.

good to know, must of been at the same time they dropped the black uniforms to dotted camo ones.

No, it was the case right from the start. And the camo uniforms were only for the SS. The black was used right to the end by the army and SS in some cases.

The colour for the gun is correct, it was just the inside of the turret hatchs that were the same as the outside. The lighter colour inside helped to see inside the dark interior but you wouldn't want bright white hatches to give you away.

Ah ok, I'd go with the instructions over some random dude on the internet too... Wink

Interesting, I didn't know about the lower part of the tracks being backwards. Good luck!

And really nice work there on the figures!!

Clint here you go.

Gamera yes according to the instructions its white but if you noticed that the spare tracks are put together wrong the lower flats of the track should be showing so take them off fix them weather them and put back on the turret

Nick: She looks fantastic!

Only issue I have is I think the insides the hatches were the same colour as the exterior of the tank. I'm not totally sure of this, you might want to ask around.

Thanks Gamera, I'm making a cutaway build so as much of the interior as possible will be shown.
