Anyone else? I haven't done much worth showing anywhere in the last month. Life is just making me very busy lately.

Anyone else? I haven't done much worth showing anywhere in the last month. Life is just making me very busy lately.

My phantom work has stalled. I ordered some walkway decals in the wrong scale and my Eduard Brassin AIM-9D's all came in the mail curved like bananas (both sets). Should be called Warpin instead of Brassin. That plus working on other shelf queens like my 4th Monogram Thunderbolt (hope to wrap that one up this weekend). Also finally got my Aires burner cans painted and installed in  a Monogram Tomcat that I've had on the shelf for a few years...

Add me to the roster for a Tamiya 1/48 He-162, please. She got proabably 90% to paint before I managed to completely lose the clear sprue. A year and a half later I was able to get a replacement and will be getting her off my bench asap.

That A10 looks slick 68GT. I havn't forgotten about the Boing 247. Been looking for missing parts and getting caught up with other models, life the universe and everything.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I have a kitchen that I'm trying to finish up on gutting while working on some things on my 1:1 1968 Mustang. My Uncle passing away didn't help and neither has my daughter's ACL surgery.

Can I join? I haven't been on here for a couple of years. I started building a French Indochina M24 Chaffee for a defunct "Import" group build. The tracks didn't fit and broke the wheels and then the tracks rotted and fell apart anyway. Lol. The group build fizzled out and I gave up. I bought a replacement kit from Japan for dirt cheap. I'm going to see if I can mix and match what I need and see if I can get this POS kit together and present something respectable. I see there are a lot of the same people here which is awesome. I'm trying a new image host app so I hope the pics are ok. Imma going to make a comeback.Rob.

Anyone else been working on a shelf queen? I havnt been doing much modeling lately but I applied a sludge wash a couple weeks ago and should have taken it down sooner. Just would have been easier and blended better. Used a combination of dark green and dark gray craft paint in the sludge wash.  This morning I was scubing it to get closer to the finish line.

I still have a little more work to do.

Not yet, still trying to get my normal stuff out.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

2020 was an off year and different focus plus semi-emergency gallbladder surgery.

2021 and recovering from shoulder surgery and cleaning the bunker. one result is getting the 30 or so shelf queens in one spot. so far i finished the TIGER MODELS ERC-90 F1 LYNX. a bit funky in places and i really screwed a lot up on it. this is the export turret. would love to buy another one and do it right since i have 11 or so French ACs in the stash. plus have them come out with the French Army version

and finished

next in the queue AFV CLUB M5, Tamiya (?) M3, Tamiya M-4, Tamiya PZ-IIC, T-REX

Tamiya PZ-IIc early version with rounded front hull and BIG target crosses before they learned to cover them up with mud. length and link track, Legend resin storage.the fuel cans were annoying as some of the handles were broken but i have at least 4 kits of fuel cans in the stash. vallejo gray, tracks are Tamyia dark iron. i know they should be shinier steel, maybe metallic gray, but i am of the artistic school. oil filters and pin washes. some of that was covered up by the powders and pastels for the dust. this is early in the Polish campaign so pretty new for damage and dirt. i did have a bogger on the upper left turret i got tired of filling, masking, pinting, and blending so i turned it into a glancing blow from an AT Rifle.

generic photo base. i would have used my more colorful ones for modern armor but this looked lost on them .

REF is to PZ-IIc. another one done. on to M3, M4, and Wartoons M5.

This is my AFV CLUB M5. it is a last minute job as a gift for my good friend Tony who moving to Texas. I was going to do some Civil War figures as we were reanactors, but he mentioned he liked STUARTS so I finished this one.

Unit is C/3-33AR 3AD, my unit in Germany in 1975. He did a class on the 77th Liberty Division in Leyte and Okinawa. His dad was a VERY young first sergeant of the medical clearing company. He carried a BAR and would lend it out for patrols doing clearing opns near his position. Hence the BAR next to the TC.

Basic me stuff; pin washes, filters, pastels. This time I used some COMART fertile soil to spray under the fenders, running gear and the muddy parts of the base. In the future I will decide how dirty it will be before doing a lot of filtering.
First base went south rather early with a couple of good lessons learned so I knocked this one out in maybe 5 hours spread over 2 days. Again basic me stuff; modeling clay with hydrocal rocks from my stash, Woodland Scenes paint and foliage.
I have an M-3 and M-4 almost done as well as a Wartoons M5. cleaning up shelf queens.

and another one. Sue is done. BTW  the real Sue is the most complete T-rex to date and is displayed in The Field Museum in Chicago.

base primer is Vallejo bone "white" with oils. snap kit. scale is 1/43ish.  have another, a triceratops, and 2 stegosaurus skeletons. plus a bunch of Tamiya 1/35 diinos all sorts of goof vignettes are swirling around in my brain.

68GT, your A10 looks great. I'm not much of a fan of jets, but there is just something very business like and awesome about that beast. Great job.

Waynec, I would never have considered a dino until I saw yours. Brilliant. Just love the colour effect you have achieved on the bones.

I have gathered all the pieces of my 247 and am working hard to clean up the two canopy halves. They join in the middle and were broken of the sprue leaving very damaged seperation points. Once cleaned up I will have to glue the two parts together before fitting in place. The join is going to have to be fairly strong and I'm not sure what to use. Normally when fitting a canopy to the fuselage I would use white glue, but these pieces are going to require some handling for masking, etc. Any suggestions folks?

Thanks Dodgy, really not sure how to tackle that one. You might try asking in the Technechs forum.  You should add a picture so people know what your trying to join.
