Finally made a start on the Huey after picking up a Revell boxing which included a part i was missing which is not used in the Revell kit. I am adding an Eduard PE set to this. The instructions are a bit off in a few places, but fortunatly i can find some decent pics on line, includeing a couple of the aircraft i am doing on the 7 flight AAC twitter page from a couple of years ago.
I started on the interior, the instructions indicate useing OD for the side and roof padding, but the pics i found show a medium grey. I use Xtracolor blue/grey for the floor and Tamiya medium grey for the padding.
Then got the interior fitted and fuselage together. I had read that the fit was not good and it wasn't wrong. On this side the fuselage floor is fine.
But on this side there is a slight gap and the floor is low. I had planned on having one set of doors shut, so i will do it on this side.
Should have more soon. I need to work out what antenna's to fit and may also need to scratch build some. This kit dates for the late 90's, soon after the AAC started useing these in brunei. I pics i have are from 2019, so it looks like its been updated quite a bit since the kit was made.

If I am correct, then the lower sighting mechanism must be what the gunners use to determine when to pull the trigger on the target.

By scanner, if you mean a document scanner, I have a flat-bed scanner that is built into an HP inkjet printer.

Thanks Harold. The instructions do indicate certain regiments, but these vehicles belong to BATUS and are just used by the units as they rotate through the excersise.

Very nice work on the gun, it looks very intricate.
I completed assembly of the AFV Club British 40mm Bofors Anti-Aircraft gun. The next step is a coat of Vallejo #74.608 USA Olive Drab Surface Primer and then a mix of Tamiya paint to match S.C.C. 15 dark green used in World War II Northern Europe.
I also received the VMS Transpa Fix 6K clear plastic glue and Universal Weathering Carrier to clean up any glue that I get on window plastic of the AEC Matador. The windows have been glued, cleaned and masked with light weight Tamiya masking tape and the Matador is ready for final assembly and a coat of Vallejo Surface Primer.
All British military vehicles use the same colour, no matter what branch. Most model companies say its NATO green but we didn't use that. I mix NATO green with some field grey to darken it slightly.

What color green would be correct for the Dark Green used on the Defenders? Is it the same as the RAF's Dark Green?

I had seen that first set G. The period is about right, but the uniform is wrong, you certainly don't need cold weather gear at BATUS.
It is nice doing these British builds and not have to worry about a large base and a dio scene.
I do like that build, i think the snow is looking good. That gun looks huge on that tank. Very nice, thanks for shareing that here.

Jack: The gun is a 120mm designed to punch holes in Soviet IS-IIIs. The tank was a friggin' beast!!!

Thanks for the advice guys, I think I'll blow some of the 'snow' off with my airbrush hose. There is a little too much on the ground and too little on the tank. It should build up in the cracks and crevices. Funny you're right about the size of the grains Jack, it's about marble size in 1/35th. Which is odd since it's model railroad stuff from Woodland Scenics- it'd be about golf ball sized in 'HO' scale and orange sized in 'N' I'd figure!
Bish: I see your point. I've been having issues finding figures from the '50-'60s for different stuff too. You can find some '70s Vietnam figures for American tanks but that seems about it.

Thanks G. I decided when i started doing British armour a few ago that diorama's were out due to the lack of post war British figures. Accurate Armour has a small selection of poor resin ones but thats it, apart from the recent crop of plastic figures that are all post 2010. And for the same reason i decided that for most builds, i would not bother with a figure at all as i would have to use the same ones over and over. Its the same for post war British equipment, there just next to nothing out there.
That is a nice tank Gamera! We had an inch or two drop in Friday, based on the cars I saw driving by I'd maybe build up more snow in the recessed areas and the areas that are untouched by the airflow when the tank is driving.
But I have never added snow to a build, I really have no idea how to accomplish it.

Hello Cliff, great looking build of the Conqueror.
The gun looks massive when combined with that narrow turret. Not use to seeing that shape compared to modern tanks. About the snow, maybe just on the ground as it looks out of scale when seen as individual grains - unless you can sift it through something to gather up the smallest ones?
Okay the Conqueror is done. I may tweak her a little more but I'm pretty much done. It was a bit cloudy so I'm not sure the photos are that much better though. Anyway I finished up the standing officers and Cleopatra, not the best figures I've painted but I think they're good enough.
And I felt it needed something, so I added the snow. Not sure I'm crazy about it, it's not cemented on so I can still blow it off.
I suppose the first photo is the best for the roster.
