On Ed's bench, ???
I've made a start on the Firebird project
step one is some clean up of the large amounts of sag on most of the body panels. I've also started the engine build. yes that's a 1/24 scale Morris mini. i spray painted the transmission in tamiya silver leaf.

My Photo Album
I have one of these kits that I haven't started yet. Seems like a June date might be just about right:
I've got this big scale Pontiac Firebird that i've had in storage for a decade. The Body has a big crack across the very weak roof. It looks to have been repaired on the a pillar as well. It looks like the only other casualty was a torsion roll bar is broken. The rest of the kit appears to be there, just very dusty.

Great idea!
I could build while listening to XM radio 1st wave. Which I do anyway!
I have a 78 VW Scirocco kit I was going to build as one of 3 cars I drove from 1981-1990.
Round 2 is re-releasing the old MPC Star War kits. If it comes out in time the snowspeeder fro TESB would fit. Or I have an original issue R2-D2.
I have an old 1/72 vac formed Shorts 330 I plan on converting to the USAF C-23 from 1985.
I also have a resin cricket phaser from Star Trek TNG.
An old lindberg Space Shuttle kit
A the X-29
Any of those should work.
How about a kit I bought in the 80s ? You know, at Kmart....
On the Bench: Too Much
I'm in, I got a couple of 80's cars.

Justinryan215You forgot movies like Iron Eagle, Better Off Dead and the ultimate car modeler movie, The Wraith!
Better Off Dead~ "Go that way, REALLY FAST. If something gets in your way...turn."
Heh...speaking of Space Balls, that could be a good meme idea for the 80s group build. Maybe a pic of Colonel Sanders and Dark Helmet, with "So when will then be now? June!"
"You can have my illegal fireworks when you pry them from my cold, dead fingers...which are...over there somewhere."
I thought it was amusing reading that the Japanese referred to that spate of Glenn Larson type TV shows from the 80s as "Baka Terebi" (Idiot Television)! I watched "The A Team" in Japan, and Mr T's dub was hillarious! Baka Terebi or not, I DID watch those shows.
“Ya ya ya, unicorn papoi!”
Real GThat decade IMHO also had the best movies too (Star Trek II, Robocop, Aliens, Empire Strikes Back, Terminator, The Road Warrior, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters. Space Balls ).

Mortal as I am,I know that I am born for a day. But when I follow at my pleasure the serried multitude of the stars in their circular course, my feet no longer touch the Earth...
Real GBut we survived and I gotta say I had a pretty good time. That decade IMHO also had the best movies too (Star Trek II, Robocop, Aliens, Empire Strikes Back, Terminator, The Road Warrior, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters. Space Balls ).
Amen to that. Those classic movies are pretty much all you see on cable TV these days, and the theatres (when they're open) are all showing remakes of those movies which aren't nearly as good...despite all of the CGI that's in them now. The music was also better, with a much bigger variety.
Depends, crossovers?

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Yeah the '80 had the best movies and TV shows. Although I might be a little biased since that's when I grew up.
I picked up a bunch of those Real G listed recently plus the 'Back to the Future' series.
Yah know if I manage to finish B.A.'s van I might look around for a time-traveling De Lorian kit...

I have lately been rewatching 48 Hours and Another 48 Hours again and again, I would love doing Nick Nolte's junker Sky Blue Cadillac DeVille.

"I can't get ahead no matter how hard I try, I'm gettin' really good at barely gettin' by"
Ooh the 1980s - Members Only jackets, designer jeans, big hair/raccoon eye makeup, jumpsuits, leg warmers and Nagel posters. What an era! No seriously, I grew up there. But it wasn't all glam fashion and party rock music. It was also the height of the Cold War, and I went through high school thinking we all going to get nuked. But we survived and I gotta say I had a pretty good time. That decade IMHO also had the best movies too (Star Trek II, Robocop, Aliens, Empire Strikes Back, Terminator, The Road Warrior, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters. Space Balls ).
I'll set the time machine for the 1980s and see what I can find in the Stash from the Past.
I have an '87 Corvette roadster that would fit the bill. If you decide to forward with the GB.

On the workbench: Monogram 1/24 '69 Pontiac GTO and a Monogram 1/67 (box scale) B-26 Invader
68GT: I'd like to go with the van of B.A. Baracus from the A-Team if okay with you.
68GTCockpit would be fine but if you can't wait the 2 1/2 months maybe you'll find something else.
Its not that I can't wait, I'm just struggling a little bit with the subject of a group build I'm already involved in...progress is slower than I was hoping it would be. Had it in my head that June was a lot further off than it actually is.
Go ahead and count me in.
