I had not heard of it either but I found a couple of reviews of it on the web.  It has a few flaws but it also has engraved panel lines and the build ups look pretty good so I thought it would be worth a try.

Dave I've just done a few searches on the web and have read the reviews of your kit and it actually doesn't look half bad at all.  I must admit that when you posted you were doing a Vista (never heard of them by the way) kit I had all these thoughts of barley formed eastern European styrene and a vac formed canopy.

Looking forward to seeing it built up.

Cheers

Darren-

Your Tomcat looks AWESOME!!!  You did a great job on the plane and on the deck.  I'd be proud to display that plane in my case, I'm sure your mate will love it!  Love the jolly roger markings, always were my favorite for the F-14.  More rum!  Bow [bow] Pirate [oX)] Make a Toast [#toast] Party [party]

G'day Darren,

right now, I'm playing with Airfix's 1/48 Mk.IX Spitfire, I have done the interior and after a struggle got the fuselage together. I am now in the process of cleaning up all the seams.

I dropped the elevators too, they are the cranked ones so they were a pain to cut, never mind I  did a half decent job!Blush [:I]Big Smile [:D]

I'll hopefully get the clean up finished soon. Did you see Brett Green's recent build article on Hyperscale for this kit? Its well worth a look. I want to try his paint/weathering method for the grey/green camo pattern. It looks very good!

Sign me up for my first group build. Are there any good Buccaneer kits out there? If not I'll go with the Phantom. Okay, now where does the line form for the rum ration?

There is only one Buccaneer in 1/48 scale, and thats the Airfix kit......it will fight you at every turn, so you were warned.......

There is a new tool kit out in 1/72, but I cannot recall who makes it. It looks very nice. I'll go away and try to find the magazine I saw it it in.

Darren-thanks for the news updates until the build starts.

Well, my LHS was able to find the Hasegawa F6F-3 (1/48) so that's what I'll be building.  Now to find some decals....hmmmm

Ok, here's an update from me. I won the bid on the Dauntless almost 2 weeks ago, and it still hasn't shown up yet! In contacting the guy, he had just sent it out 2 days ago. Banged Head [banghead]

I wonder what the holdup was, but he didn't elaborate. Maybe casting me a new kit fresh from the mould? Hmmmm.....Confused [%-)]

Warmest regards,

Roger

Tango-Looking forward to sharing input.  Right now I'm struggling to not overdo the kit with resin & PE-I don't want to spend more for accessories than I did for the kit-especially since I read (on their website, I think) that Eduard is going to offer a Hellcat kit late 2007.  I'm very impressed with their FW-190's.
