the doog

Hey guys---just sitting here in Cologne, Germany, and I had some time to find all of my old posts on FSM by using the searh feature--I know a lot of guys were bummed (like I was) that all the old links seemed to have been gone, but I found all of mine by now, and so I posted them here for anyone who might have had them bookmarked and lost them.

OK--I finally got the links copied in here---you'll have to highlight them from the "http" onward, and post them into your link bar or whatever that thing is called up there! Hope you can use them, and I look forward to adding more in the future!!! Big Smile

This is a SWEET thread! I'm bookmarking it! Thanks Karl and Bill!

So, no Norway now? Hmm. Well, Cologne is a sweet town. A Panther was aswell filmed as it was shot to pieces by a Pershing there. Seen that clip? You should.

My pleasure Karl...but it really wasn't much. Just quoted your post and added a space in the text at the end of each URL. With the posting windows here on FSM in IE that automatically activates it as an active URL link, so it literally just took a few seconds to do it. Wink Thanks for your effort to put all these in one place as a handy reference. Beer

So nice to have all these great tutorials all in one spot.  Thanks doog and wbill for putting it together.

Perhaps the most important lesson I have learned is that you should never argue with an idiot. The people around you may not be able to tell the difference.

Bill definitely deserves the kudos!

And Steve--that photo's going to give me NIGHTMARES, lol! Surprise

Glad to get all these links back--maybe other people could post theirs? Bill, Steve, anyone else who has been really prolific at doing tutorials and how-to's? I had suggested a forum for these kinds of posts, but it never got done!

It would be cool to start a "sticky" and post it up there and have everyone contribute to it?

How about it?

Karl,

I like the idea of a sticky thread and/or one-stop place for handy reference links. All of my "how tos" were contained in blog/wip threads as opposed to stand-alone threads like some of yours though.

The easiest thing I can do is point people to where I keep copies of the "clean" blog/wip threads at http://www.bpmodels.net vs. trying to dig them all up again here. I didn't keep a list of them saved like you did before the switch over as a starting point so unfortunately I'd literally have to go back through all 7k+ of my posts with the search function to find the FSM thread links and post them up again.

I started to put Tutorial: before the title on my tutes figuring a search for Tutorial: would put them all in one place. If we could either modify the existing titles, or at least start naming them the same way now, it will make future searches that much easier!

And we can start nagging the admins to setup a tutorial forum!

So long folks!

OOOOH,,,, now who was that company?...Hmm

That figure is from a 4-piece set from Warriors figures #35228 "SS Winter Tiger Crew". Here's a link to a German website that carries it, but it's also available domestically.

http://www.modellbau-koenig.de/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/186_185_272/products_id/2933

I think I might have used a separate head on it, but the figure is basically one of the four Warriors figures.

BILL--yes, I'm sorry; I forgot that you have your own website there. I really should look into starting my own one of these days!

Bill Grigg--YES! Start bugging the mods for a "Tutorials" forum! The sooner the better!

Karl

Nice job.....see you really like the new netbook!!! The web site is the best way. The hardest part is putting it together to start. I am about.....50% through setup but need the time to finish. You also have to remember Bill lives in an alternative universe where there is 48 hours in a day Wink

The sticky would be great....but I can see it getting real full. Many WIP were not toots but have some great info in them.

Bill.....we all love you!!

Karl,

Ironically I started up that little website precisely because I got tired of trying to find my own threads on different forums whenever I wanted to refer back to them. Tongue Tied

Mike,

Alternate universe...now that explains a lot! Propeller
