Thanks Lee.  You have a sharp eye.  The MB in the first pic does not have the factory front bunper.  It looks like some type of square stock piece with tow bar attachments on it.

Gino, this looks like an interesting build.  I like that grill set and the variation it offers.  I'm looking forward to the finished build!

Super cool! I've seen the pressed paper detail parts but so far haven't used any. I assume you just soaked the whole thing in the thin superglue? Looking forward to seeing how she turns out- this is going to be cool.

Gamera - it is a cool little part.  I actually attached the paper part to the front of the jeep then ran a bit of superglue over all the parts of it a couple times, letting it dry between each application.   Once dry, it was almost as hard as the plastic parts.

Thanks Gino, I figured the paper being porous the superglue would soak right in and set up hard. I'm going to have to try some of these paper super-detailing parts someday, they sound easier to work with than PE.

I completed the early Willys, slat-grilled MB.  I have marked it as a vehicle from 5th Army, 101 MP Bn with field mods from late in the war.

Here are some pics.

Here you can see the instrument panel pretty well.  Of note, I used Archer instrument transfers on it.  I also put the tire pressure marking (TP 25) on the dash as well.  This was accurate for WWII vehicles.  The tire pressure above the rear wheel openings and on the front fenders was a post war feature.

I plumbed the engine compartment with ignition wires, coil, distributor,battery cables, fuel line, etc. I also added the support rod from the radiator to the firewall as well.

It was a fun build and I like how it came out.

Been following your build. Love the look of the slat grill.

 You are very talented, a steadier hand, a lot more patience than I have and better eye sight to. Thats why I like working 1/24 scale.

Have to keep that trick about the super glue in mind cause going the paper detail route is the only way I'm going to get a slat grill jeep and it's going to have to be 1/35 scale.

Thanks Dave.  I just build them the most detailed I can.  Actually, there is a large-scale slat grilled MB.  Fine molds makes one in 1/20 scale.  I haven't built it (I like to keep them small), but I have heard it is nice.
