Getting an A7V to market would be nice. There is only one survivor, located in Queensland AU.  Replica vehicles reside in Bovington (UK) and PanzerMuseum Munster (Ger).

Takom is a new actor but their kits have been VERY WELL received: 1/16 FT-17 renault, St Chamond tank,  Soviet Objekt 279,  Leopard C2 Mexas.

I understand his viewpoint. Once I buy a kit, I have every intention of building it, even if a newer better kit of the same subject comes out. I will not be defeated by any model!

You've seen enough secondary sales in the armor modeling world to know that someone somewhere someday in the future will pay premium money for the old models. Not saying the kits are worth what collectors or nostalgia builders pay, but they still have value.

You can't sell expired milk to your neighbor, but if you live on a limited budget, already have the old kit in hand and like a challenge, what's wrong with building it?

I have seen some excellent Emhar Mk.IV builds, one that was super detailed and won best of show! Lets not forget Shepard Pane's build featuring the spontoon hanging from a crane showing full scratch built interior detail.

Yes new tooled kits of this subject are overdue and in demand! Manufactures are listening to us modellers and seeing what is on the contest tables, be thankful we live in this age where a idea can be transformed to a prototype model then a kit in mere weeks vrs years previously.

Far as motorized there is no better design of a tank to motorize! All the track drives, rollers and mechanisms are hidden. The lozenge shape is the ultimate design to travel over obstacles, add the trailing wheels and axles and this machine is unstoppable! I would venture to guess Tamiya will use the design of the idler wheel to adjust the track... just like the real Mk.IV.

Looking forward to the figures that will follow, a epic Vimmy Ridge diorama will not need tanks, just boots on the ground and trenches lined with hundreds, er thousands of sandbags!

Well I was sorta excited that a Mk IV was coming out, but today Takom annouced they were doing both a male and a female version and I think the Takom one will be the way to go. Their recent track record for new kits is much better IMHO then Tamiya's. Think tamiya's repoped m109's with their figures and italeri moulds when Takom has released Leo C2 Mexas, the St. Chammond and others which were really nice.

I feel like Tamiya tried to upstage Takom's release however, based on the PMMS release info the Takom one is much more appealing

Well, for so many years, there was only one kit of this subject to choose from. Soon it will be three. Any way you look at it, the situation has improved markedly.

Perhaps with the 100 year anniversary of WW1 In september the model makers are going to try to cash in on it....So we cold be seeing a lot more WWI era stuff coming

And here I thought we only had the Emhar kit. I can only imagine an Eastern European kit...

Considering all the kits recently announced, I suspect many more WWI kits may show up depending upon how well these ones sell.

The older WW1 kits were more like Dumb and Dumber. I think many of the companies have inside information on one another and they try to beat one another to the punch. The information may come from the subject source, "Hey the Takom guys were just here measuring that same tank..." I mean, there's not a plethora of these 100 year old tanks sitting at town parks.

Yeah I changed my mind.think I'll pick one up,depending on how it's priced. I built the emhar kit and never was very happy with it

Thanks Rob!  I had no idea one was getting started up!  I may have to join up and now I have an incentive to buy one of these new kits!
