The IPMSA was *amazing*

Just had it in Richmond VA. I'd never been before, but I knew there would be model kits for sale. I figured 60-80 kits overall.

More like 6000 kits. Oh crap this show was awesome! I picked up so many cool kits I can't wait to get started! Panzer III SiG33 assault gun (10$) by Dragon. Italeri Jagpanzer IV for 7$. Tamiya M4A3 for 2$ A skif T80 full of aftermarket parts for 10$, the list goes on. Incredible place!

Plus, *eveyrone* I met there was super friendly, willing to share tips on the models they were showing off (which was stunning work)

I can't wait to go back again next year!

...still no Tamiya T-34/76 tho...

Glad to hear it! I'm telling ya, a club like that can't be beat for the deals you will find. Sounds like you made a nice haul there.

I said there would be someone near you. There were lots of good shows in that area when I was stationed there.

CD: Glad to hear you had a good time! I got up yesterday at 4:30 and got back at midnight- spent a good bit of today napping!

I did see a couple of the AFV Club single hatch T-34s but the guy wanted forty-four bucks for them so no real discount. Good to hear you did find some stuff you liked.

I got a 2nd place in the SF/Fantasy figures for my 1/6th Captain Picard and a 3rd for my AFV Club M10, both were in pretty sparse categorizes but they're still wins so I'm not complaining. Picked up a AFV Club M36 I'd been looking for a good price on and a bunch of Dragon Korean War figure sets for five bucks each. And I found an old electronic P-40 from Revell that I had as a kid back in the early '80s!

Only issue was an issue with a friend and clubmate's diorama which is a long story that I won't get into here...

Now that you've been broken in you'll have to hit some more shows! And IPMS Richmond seems like a pretty good bunch.

Yeah I'm hooked. I'm thinking about joining the local chapter. I've been trying out pin washing to good effect on a Tamiya Chieftain, but needs some hands-on training with oil washing.

Man, at those prices, I would have rented a U-Haul!

There was one lady had all Tamiya figure boxes 2 for 5$, and one huge section of tanks for 10$ each. I had to forcefully stop myself from spending more money because the deals were too good to pass up.

Yeah, big estate sale- that's what happens when you die with a big stash left behind. So build all your stuff because if you don't all your treasures will be sold off for peanuts!!!

I used to drive from Ft. Lee to Richmond for the IPMS and AMPS meetings every month. Well worth the trip.
