I'm in favor of the paint job you did it actually should make it easier to see the interior detail versus a darker color. I actually have the original Italeri boxing of this kit and am wondering what brand tracks you used?

Thanks Mikeym_us. The tracks that I used came with the kit. My kit was the Tamiya re-box. One of the things they did was put in new tracks. They were very nice to work with.

Finally got the interior painted and weathered. The rockets were painted field gray and dry brushed and used some pigments on the floor. I think that it has a very well used look. It is a shame that 80% of the work will never be seen. The better half asked why I was doing it and I told her it is great practice. Tomorrow I will be getting the half’s glued together. We will see how the fit is with all those angles. Thanks for stopping by to see how everything is going.

Hi everyone, the build is progressing nicely. Just finished up the main body of the vehicle and luckily all the angles worked out. I just needed a little putty around one side of the front of the vehicle. I used the liquid testors plastic cement and the extra working time allowed me to get the angles to come out right. Of course I had a great blunder that I dumped over the glue and lost ½ the bottle that stuff is good it eat my lines off the cutting mat and drenched the end on one finder side of my model. Luckily I remembered not to touch the plastic and just let it dry, no damage was done. I have decided that I am going to leave the body off the chasse till I finish painting it and then I will put them to gather for weathering, It will be easier than typing off the bottom part of the running gears. These pictures show it just temporally sitting on the chasse.

Well it’s off to glue more plastic together just need to finish up the rocket launcher and then I am ready to paint it. Also need to build some form of glue holder so I can’t knock over another bottle, that stuff isn’t cheap as my wife let me know.

As for the interior disappearing, you'll always have the photos to look back on if nothing else! Big Smile

Yep, tipping over the glue is a regular thing for me. I had not done it in ages, but i returned to the old habit a few days ago. Lucykly the bottle was nearly empty and no damage done.

Hi everyone there has been a slight slow down to the build because of a condition that would not let me sit in any chair. Great news is I am on the mend and should be setting at the desk again by next week. Here is an update of what I had completed before the condition struck.

I had completed the launcher and primed the whole thing in Vallejo black primer. I let that set up for 24 hours and then applied a base coat of a Vallejo Dark Yellow / light brown mix. The mix helped cut down on some of the green tint of the Dark Yellow.

Lesson Learned: Do not paint the Rocket Launcher on the body of the vehicle. It is now in a permanent location. That is what happens when you are lazy and did not want to mask the opening.

Your model is lookin' good! I don't know what paint you're using, but I believe you could be able to pry the rocket launcher out with some caution. Now your model could use some shading or some camo to make it look even more interesting! Good luck with your build and have a nidce day

Finally got some new work done after 6 weeks. I was hoping to do a sprayed camo pattern but my airbrush will not do it even with a soft mask. It is only good for base coating and varnishing. So I said hell with it and I am doing it by hand with a brush. I like the two colors even though I think the green is to dark, but it works for me. The two colors are Vallejo saddle brown and yellow olive.

High everyone first thing is I would like to say thanks to everyone that is following along on the build and giving great suggestions. I finished my camo today. I think it looks ok for a first attempt. I have a couple of questions as I get ready to go forward. Just to let everyone know that I use Vallejo’s product range because my better half has an adverse reaction to enamels and I refuse to have to do my weathering outside. I just got Airbrushing and Weathering Techniques by Rob Ferreira and it is a great book for tricks on using Vallejo products. Now back to the questions.

1. Do you dry brush a tri color camo pattern in a lighter shade for each color or just the base color?

2. Do you dry brush before or after the filter to tie the colors together?

Nice job on brushing that. I dry brush before any thing else. I just do it for the base colour. You could also try giving it a thin coat of the base colour sprayed all over which help tie it together.

It’s hard to believe that it has been this long since an update on this project. I am still fighting my way through it. Been really busy and wreathing always seems to take me forever to do. The vehicle has been dry brushed, washed and chipped. Some dusting has been done. Need to finish it up. Procrastinating is one of my bigger weaknesses. I used new Vallejo weathering products and really like them. Need to practice some more with the streaking looks better in person than in the picture. I also finished up the fuel drums that will go with the dio. I am hoping that it will not be this long for the next update.

I am still cursing away on the Panzerwefer 42 project. I have just finished up the painting of the figurers and ammo crates and tubes. I am pretty happy with how the figures came out. The wood crates I am still out on. The grain looks a bit heavy in the picture but in person from a normal viewing distance they look good. Well I will need to start the base and finish wreathing everything once the base is completed. I am seeing a finish line in the distance finally.
