hi guys, what is the part in this picture? What does it do or what is it used for? There appears to be 2 or 3 used on this tamiya tiger 1. I just got my awesome new "shep paine's modeling armor" but it is not listed on the "parts of a tank" list on page 14. Thank you in advance !!!

they are used to connect two tow cables together. The eyelet of each tow cable hooks to each end to increase the length.
they probably start out as unpainted dark metal color and might gather some rust until the vehicle is repainted or a camouflage pattern is added, then it would get some of those colors.
