Hello, Smile
Never too much of a good thing so I started next project - Captured SU-85 from Mini Art and I decided to share my progress there.

The box contain a lot of sprues, so the assembly process will bring a lot of fun.

I will try to paint it the same like this paint shemes shown: Russian green on the hull behind the wheels and german dunkelgelb and olivegrun on the rest of the vehicle:

As always I made in-box review video. If someone is interested please follow this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVWi0Nff9ZQ

Progress photos soon :)

Interested to see how one of these Mini Art kits build up.

I did the same vehicle useing the old tamiya kit a few years ago. After looking at pics, i am not sure the Germans would have used there own Olive green. I sprayed the yellow leaving patches of the Russian green showing, that seemed to make more sense to me.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Thank you guys for your interest, it's nice to know that somebody follow my work with this kit :)

Bish- in my opinion russian green instead of the olivegrun is more possible but following this idea I would have to paint green first and then apply the dunkelgelb. I want to try black and white technique on this model so I think that I first will apply the yellow colour.

Btw: I spent some time with the kit and assembled all wheels, each comes from four parts so the process was a little bit time consumpting but the details on finished wheel are worth this time.

Ah gotta love cleaning up the road wheels. I just do them while watching TV or YouTube videos.

Thats probably the way i should have gone. I sprayed mine green, weathered it and then added the yellow. In hindsite it seemed a bit of a waste.

That looks rather nice, i am curious about these Miniart kits.

Hello.

Summer is not conducive to modeling but slowly im wrking with this project :)

I want to put the crew in the vehicle and leave all hatches opened, so I prepare the interior for painting.

I like how the MiniArt makes his kits: even those parts which will be invisible after final assembly are very well done.

I also did the most tedious part of the work- cleaned and prepared to assembly all track links.

Yeah, that does look like a really good kit. The detail is even better than the Dragon T-34/SU-85s I've bought.

I'm eager to see how this MiniArt SU-85 builds up, it looks quite detailed.  I have the Dragon SU-100, but no SU-85s....maybe I should switch to MA!!

BTW, it looks like this kit does not have a full interior, correct?  I've noticed that MA and some other mfgs have started to release kits with full interiors.
