Looking at your Pz II build, then looking at mine....I'm not sure if I'm inspired (should me, yours is truly stunning) or wanting to put mine in the closest never to bring it out in public.

Yours looks just fine. Mine is only where it is now thanks to guys on here, its taken quite a few builds just to get to this level.

Chris, i think a tank done like this only looks right in its proper setting, so hopefully it will match right in.

I think it will display well in that setting....with a little debris around and under the tank it will look fantastic. I get what you are saying about it "fitting" because we are accustom to seeing theses tanks out in their "natural" surroundings such as tree lines, thick growths of schrubs, old barns and so on.

With all of your builds I could see from the past I have no doubt you are going to kill this one. Outstanding work sir!

Sir that is going to be one heck of a dio when you finish it. Amazing work on the tank and factory. As always your attention to detail is superb! I can't wait too see the finish product.

Time to call this done. Firstly, the finished figures.

Overall, i am really pleased with how these turned out apart from the faces. I still need to work on that area. Going to dig out some old figures and practice some different techniques.

After painting, the Infantry figures got a wash of raw umber which was not left on to long before removing escess. I then used some pigmenst to dirty them up a bit. The water in the jug was done with woodland scenice realistic water put inot the jug and water effects used to make the water being poured out.

The tank crew was done with Humbrol enamels. They got less dirt added though the commander was made a bit more dusty than the other two. The shaving foam on the kneeling figures was again water effects painted with a very thin white.

And then everything was added to the base to finish it off. There was one last minute hitch. I realised last night i had forgotten to add the periscopes to the turret, which of course is now glued in place. So, what to do. Easy, take them out and lay them on top waiting to be cleaned.

For the map on the table i had to find one online, reduce it and print it out. I have some i bought on really thin paper, but all the maps you can buy are more for army or corps command's then a company level unit. The one i found was a period German map of South Stalingrad. The north of the city would have been better, but had to make due.

Whoa, that is awesome! That looks like it took 6 months to build. Great job on the whole thing. Great balance to that scene! When did the Germans stop using the Panzer II?

They never really stopped useing it. This version was in production right until the end of 1942. It stopped being used as a front line tank at the end of 42, but was still used on secondary fronts, anti partisan and so on.

The in progress looked great.  The finish is a show stopper.  Absolutely fantastic.  

Do you have space to show that off?  I ask seeing as how you have been on a major buying binge, and need a lot of space for kit storage.

No, i am sure your not mistaken. The Ausf L went into production in 43, though that was used for recon i think. But i am sure the units manning the wall would have had older modles, and Pz II turrets were used on some of the bunkers.

The stash is kept down in the shed so that seperate. Fortunatly last year i movedmy modelling into whats now a spare bedroom since the otherseldest daughter went to University. So i now have wall to wall shelving. So for now i have room, but its not a big room so that won't last.

Well done Bish! Everything looks great, I especially like the figures. That's an area I need to improve on. You'll see what I mean when I get around to painting the figures for my X-Wing diorama...

Thanks G. And i know what you mean. For me, the composition is all important. The best built model means nothing if the composition is all wrong. A good dio needs all elements to be there, and hopefully i am getting there.

Really nice job bish all around busy from the debris to the busy troops.

Seems like it's kinda hard to find troop doing what you need them for.

Thanks Jerry. I have been fortunate in being able to find figures that fit the dio i want. Somtime i lok at my figures stash and see some that give me an idea for a dio. But i do have a few dio ideas that i kow will need more heavy modification and thats the nest thing i want to work on.
