My Cure for AMS.....
Posted by RBaer on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 7:36 PM

Truth: I was looking at my stash the other day, and all the boxes that have "projects" in them, new and old, really wanting to do some modeling, and I locked up. I have lots of stuff ready to dive into, but I didn't want to do any anti-slip, spend three hours assembling tracks, give myself a headache doing tiny PE parts, no ball-and-chain RPG screens, nuthin'. Everything I have ready to start, or even on the Shelf of Shame, is pretty involved, orr technical. I did not want to build the AFV Club M60A1 I have barely started, or the Magach 2B, none of the Sherman projects, not even the new Tamiya M3 Stuart. AMS was setting in! Then I glanced upon a small box, on end, between stacks of serious projects, and Bingo! In about six hours, I was done, and refreshed enough to pull something else out that I shelved at least 15 years ago.

The Cure!

I'm gonna have to keep a few of these things around: pure fun, nicely engineered, and my wife says it's cute. I am now in the process of re-starting the Academy M-18 she bought me a long time ago, and I shelved after seeing and reading about its inaccuracies. It also has some other issues, but it's back on the bench.

Looks cool to me! The S-35 is one of the Toon tanks I haven't seen till now.

Those are really good to get back into action and excellent palete cleansers.

Looking forward to the M18, my favorite AFV. Though I still haven't built one...

T'anks G, it was fun.

The M-18 is an odd one.  Academy missed a few things that are pretty obvious in pictures, the fit is iffy in a few key places, and I've made a lot of plastic dust and worn out a few nail files already. I'll get a thread started soon.
