COOOOOOL!!!!!! !!

Gotta hand it to ya, Gino--for a guy who does mostly "clean" models, the weathering is perfect on this! Love the stowage, and the stuff in the front seats!

A question, if I may? What's that "X"-shaped thing protruding up off of the roof of the cab? It seems to me that that thing would pose a dangerous risk for riccocheting bullets if the stream from the MG passed over it? What's its purpose?

Thanks dupes, it was a fun build and I like how it turned out.  I first saw these trucks in Iraq when I was there in '03.   If you look around the net, there are some pics out there, like these, which I used as a reference.

When you were looking for pics, what did you search for? Is there some military designation for this monster?

I like your work but the passenger door are a little short, it needs a lettle more dirt on the sides, the wheels are not on the point,the gun is just right!! love it. the color is ded on. needs more stuff in the bed or my be just a fig. The type of truck company is right but not the truck. You could have used an AOSHIMA Toyota Hilux 4WD Double cab truck "1992" and you would be ded on it. the nerf-bar in the ber should not have lights on it; but in all looking over all that stuff you build makes me proud to say you have what it takes to do AutoMotive Modeling as well. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&P=WR&I=LXSWD5

great job and a far site cheaper than the resin Tacoma double cab kit in 1/35

a 1/35 double cab in plastic would be a great cross over kit, both for the auto builders and armor  

I am looking for the kits to follow your lead

oh and the pictures I have seen they {another board had many pictures of the TACOMAs in the field} ordered the double cabs off the showroom floor and shipped them over

Thanks for the kudos.  It is not supposed to be the exact truck that is shown in the pictures, just something similar.  I only used the pictures as a reference to the type of vehicles that the SF guys are using.

Another great build. And it is different, with nothing bigger than 7.62mm. Love the interior. Weathering looks great. It may not be perfect scale since it was a mesh of kits but it captures the essence of the idea and looks like it was fun.

Question, where did you get or did you make the pork chop hanging from the interior rear view mirror.

Thanks guys.  I haven't been snowed in at Drum yet, just not able to egt to a non-secure computer that often.  We are expecting snow all through the weekend though, yipee.

By the "pork chop", I am assuming you mean the handset?  If so, it is a resin copy of one I made from sheet and rod plastic.

Nice work Gino!

The only thing I see missing is the ocassional bullet hole/dent and there are no rock dings in the windshield.  I'm sure at 130kph its kicking up some rocks.  As far as the bullet holes, with my nice private sector job in the midwest, I can only guess if that happens that often.

Seriously, I followed the build in the WIP log.  Nice job, it turned out well. Are you going to make us wait till your back to see what you do with the remaining pieces of the other truck model??
